Looking for a meal planner online

does anybody know of any good "whole food" websites that can help me make a good, solid weekly menu? I would prefer something that calculates nutrition. I have a vintage bathing suit to fit into, yo.

what would be a.ma.zing is if i could say "i have x and y available: what kind of meal can I make with these ingredients and how many calories / give nutrition profile / to keep within a range"

Allrecipes.com does the "This is what I have and what can I make?" thing.

I love that feature. And it does give you the nutrition breakdown - plus they have bajillion recipes.

i love allrecipes, too, but that's not quite what i'm looking for. i'm looking for something that maybe would generate a week of meals based on a certain nutritional profile e.g. high protein vegetarian, under 1800 calories or something like that.

mostly to give me ideas and be able to generate a seasonal shopping list. i may be asking for too much? i hope not.

I'm not sure about weekly menus, however on www.myfridgefood.com you can check off their list of ingredients you have in your home, set a calories max, and then it generates recipes for you based on what you have. The recipes are listed in order of best possible match, and then generate a list of what you'd need from the store to make the item.

sparkspeople.com has this feature and is free
  • SOSCuisine.com has meal plans for various eating strategies with nutrition info. They also take into account seasonal/weekly flyer specials, if you happen to live in Canada. Might be worth checking out.
