Strange Encounter - NV 2011

Every summer, the Reno/Sparks area hosts Hot August Nights, which is basically a massive classic car show. They have all kinds of rides on display in downtown Sparks, at some of the casinos, & a few other places around town. And, they do a cruise through Sparks & Reno every night.

Anyways, last year, we were wandering the streets of Sparks, NV minding our own business…just checking out the different cars on display. When out of nowhere, here comes this gang of 4 people walking up the main drag. At first people cleared a wide path for them…I mean, they just looked so menacing and all 4 of them were packing some serious heat! It was crazy…nothing like this had ever happened in the 12 years I’d lived here & been going to Hot August Nights. Some people bravely approached them, including my own kids, who appeared totally unafraid! I was able to get a picture of the crew before they stormed off down the street…

    It was pretty cool...they must've been dying in those suits too because it was pushing 100 that day; but they stopped & posed with everyone who asked.

    That was the last Saturday of H.A.N. last year, if I'm not mistaken & they were just mobbin' up Victorian Ave. in Sparks. I hope they come back this year...my mom will be out here for the last couple of days & I want to get a picture of her with them since she's a total non-geek, LOL!

    I use to live in Nevada, so I know of the hot summers you speak of and I can’t imagine how miserable they must have felt in those outfits. On another note, I think it’s pretty cool that you were able to take that pic of your kids with them! :bigsmile:
