Heart rate monitor calories with beta blockers

I'm taking beta blockers which lower my heart rate some. I use a heart rate monitor when I exercise and I'm wondering what the beta blockers are doing to the calorie count I get from the monitor. I'm assuming that it's making it off some, and I've read some posts on here that seem to verify that. I'm hoping to get a definitive opinion from someone who might have some expertise in this area. Any experts out there?

Yes-the beta blockers make the HRM calorie numbers worthless.0

Old post, but just wondering how close your HRM reads compared to what a generic reading off of MFP says? Mine is off too because of a tachy situation...so I just go off of MFP. Going on betas soon and curious to know how close it is for you. Mine are trippled for calorie burn than what they should really be...it's totally off for me.0
