Recovering Chocolate Addicts Unite!

I feel as though I have an addiction to chocolate and ice cream. I consider myself to be a recovering addict and I know I can't have a bite of chocolate or ice cream because I'll crave it like a crazy person. I cannot keep "emergency" chocolate in the house... I'll seek it out even when it's not an "emergency". I also can't keep ice cream or popsicles in the house in the summer for a "snack", because my "snack" will end up being the box. I choose to just stay away at all costs from these sweet temptations. I've been doing great staying away and eating healthy, even exercising! We are all in this together and support is key!

you know I am with ya here
its hard to stay strong and not eat any ice cream and chocolate.
just like you I cannot have just a bit I need to have it all if I do that!

Wow, I would have worded it exactly the same as you did! I can't have ice cream, chocolate or anything sweet and creamy in the house or I will eat it until it's gone! I keep asking my husband not to bring things like that home, and they keep showing up anyway:( He likes his candy addiction, I don't like mine. I want to stop eating anything like that for a month or two and break my terrbile habits, but I have not been successful yet. He even brought me a bag of Butterfingers for Mother's Day. I said "what were you thinking?!" And then ate most of the bag. Those mini candy bars are the worst! I can't eat just one, and it doesn't seem like much because they are so small.0

They say the more sweets you eat, the more often you'll crave them because of the addictiveness of them. Saying that, I eat chocolate everyday. But if you stop for a couple weeks, you won't crave them nearly as much.0

I have found that having 1 dark chocolate bar in the fridge and eating 1 square a day reeeeally helps keep away that chocolate craving.0

I can't even have chocolate chips for baking in my pantry, or I end up eating them. I have to buy them right before I need to use them.0

True, true! HOWEVER, I found a recipe for chocolate protein brownies that ROCKS and it's healthy!! And don't worry, not syrup or chcolate chips or anything - just cocoa powder. You won't want to eat the powder so this one is safe!! The recipe is from Jamie Eason - she's incredible!! My fitness hero, for sure. Check it out!
Ingredients
•1 cup Oat Flour
•2 scoops Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
•½ tsp Baking Soda
•¼ tsp Salt
•3 tbsp Baking Cocoa
•4 Egg Whites
•½ cup Splenda
•8oz Berry flavored Baby Food
•4oz Water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix dry ingredients (oat flour, vanilla whey protein, baking soda, salt, baking cocoa) together in a large bowl.
Mix wet ingredients (egg whites, Splenda, berry flavored baby food, water) together in a medium sized bowl.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix together.
Spray cooking dish with a non stick butter spray or olive oil spray and add batter to dish.
Tips & Bonus Information
Calories: 96 Fat: 1.4 grams Carbs: 12 grams Protein: 10 grams
Yield: 16 squares, serving size = 2 bars
Preparation Time: 10 mins.
Cooking Time: 20-30 minutes
* I used plain natural apple sauce instead of berry baby food (same thing, I just like the apple sauce better!) I add a touch more than the recipe calls for and they come out SUPER soft and deliciously moist (sorry, there's no good synonym for 'moist' when it comes to food, lol!)
*I also opt for chcolate protein powder instead of vanilla for an extra chocolatey kick. Vanilla can be used in all her other recipes though, as it can enhance other flavors better than chocolate.
