    Eh.

It's good if you are amazingly sedentary and just need something.

The yoga section is kind of nice, though.

I use mine plus I have the Wii Active. Due to a bad knee, I am not able to jog except in place. The Wii lets me do this. The boxing will get your heart rate up as will hula hoop and the skate board (these are all in the plus version). The Active is more of workout routine. I also just started using Wii Zumba.

While it is not my main exercise, it does add fun and you do burn calories. You might want to wait on it. They coming out with a new version and are predicting that the price of the old model will drop and people will sell them to get the new ones. Google Wii U to see the new version. Sorry, don't know when it is coming out. I like the machine, but not the remote. Hand-held with a touch screen.

    Good luck.

I love Wii fit, it tracks your weight loss for you and you can get so many different games. I have the golds gym dance workout and I love it, I'm about to invest in DDR, haha. I don't think its necessarily for sedentary people, i have a six month old so its hard to do workouts outside with him. I can do island cycling while he's in his jumper.

And you can get one on Craigslist including remote, board, console and a game or two for less than $200. The yoga is great, its better than any class I've been to.

in my opinion: I love my Wii.. I do not at all think it is just for sedentary people. I burn just as many calories with my Wii fit plus and Wii Zumba as I do on my treadmill or bike. and well, the Wii is A lot more fun. I think it is worth the money for sure..so long as you are going to actually use it. I agree with the above, that the boxing, aerobic step, super hula hoop are all great exercises that make my legs burn :) oh and I do not like the way the new wii u looks.. that handheld piece looks too big.

It's a good way to get some activity in if there are no other options.

It's also a fun family activity for us.

I agree. I like the new machine but that new remote is too bulky. May consider new machine but keep regular remotes.

I used it alot when I first got it but slowly stopped. I think the activites are a bit simplistic and I never felt like I got a great wokout unless I did the running. I still use it to track my weight but you could just use a scale. If you have kids...maybe. If not.....Id pass.

I Love my wii - it has helped me lose most of the weight I have currently lost. It is great for those who dislike working out in front of others. Its a great work out and fun too !

I use the Wii Fit pretty casually and think it was a good purchase. :) For me I just find it a fun way to do something different and there are so many games compatible with the unit beyond just the standard Wii Fit game that comes with the board. I think it's great for keeping someone accountable for making the decision to exercise and track, and I like that it's a low-pressure way to weigh in every day in order to see long term day-to-day patterns while still maintaining my weekly weigh-in for MFP. I have a regular workout (circuit training, jumping rope) that I do most days, and the Wii Fit is nice for when I have a little extra time.

My husband has found it very motivating just in terms of checking in with it every day. He doesn't use the actual exercises as much, but the simple act of recording his weight/balance/etc once a day has helped him be more aware of how he uses his body and food.

    Good luck making your decision!
