A week of "Non Exercise" fitness. Help me out!

I have been getting really bored and slacking off on my exercise. I decided this week, I would like to work out everyday but only doing fun activities! Can you all give me some of your favorite calorie burning activities that don't seem like "exercise"? I played tennis yesterday, and that was a ton of fun and a decent workout for me.

I plan to get myself a pair at the end of this month. ( cant tell you what happened to my old ones - probably lost over the years since i last did it!)

If you can shop/window shop for a few hours, that is some major walking! OK, I am talking about REALLY brisk walk from store to store...I do that, I am a fast walker...and not browsing every few mins :) I know this is an odd advice but I figure if you are going to treat yourself, mind as well do some enjoyable walking. I find myself too bored when I am out walking just for the sake of walking...but when I travel, ooh la la, I really walk and hardly notice it :)

Hiking. Pick a mountain (or a hill) and go climbing.

I love playing badmitton with the family. Surprises me every time how much of a workout it gives me. Usually makes me sore for a day:(

I love to hula hoop with my girls. It's a great cardio and core exercise. Or how about jumping on a pogo stick for something non-traditional.

Don't work out, play! Frisbee, ping pong, tag, hopscotch, whatever... if you're moving, you're burning calories.

Personally, I love to dance and hula hoop.

Hmmm.. I used to have roller blades. I wonder if I donated them? I'll have to look around and see if I can find them. I live in central MO... There are not many hills and definitely not mountains.. But a hike through the woods could be fun. We like to see all the wildlife. I'm not sure there is any ice skating rinks close to me.. I think the closest one is 90 min drive away.. I think we might have to get some lawn games like badminton and frisbee. Thanks, these are all fun ideas!

I walk a lot! I usually walk to our town square and look in all the shop windows!

We actually bought a hula hoop, and I cannot do it at all! I try and try again, but it is so frustrating. I haven't seen any pogo sticks in a long time either! Maybe some jump rope though!

They make hoops in different sizes .... the smallish ones, I can't do at all. Look for a full sized one. They also make weighted hula hoops (with exercise videos) ... that sounds fun too.

I play racquetball. It's super fun and it doesn't feel like a workout... until you're done that is lol
  • I have a zone family fit mat that connects to the tv, its surprising how much exercise you can do just following the steps doing games and exercises on it. I also put music on and just dance about the house as well! really good for the heart rate.

I haven't done either in a while, but I used to go rollerblading and play basketball a lot. Both burn a lot of calories and are tons of fun, IMO.
