I finally weighed myself today it had been about 2 weeks since the last time i did, and this time it showed a gain of 4LBS!!! =(((( I did have my usual cheat day once a week and yes i did eat maybe 100 to 200 cals over my usual intake but i'm still working out and portioning out everything! counting calories is driving me insane and its making me a little discouraged to see that gain! the only thing that has changed was that since i was put on blood pressure meds i find it hard to get up in the morning which is when i was doing my workouts regularly, so i've been going after work could this and the fact that i'm not drinking as much water have anything to do with it???

Help! =(((

I don't think it matters what time of day you do your workouts, as long as you simply do them. I also am also feeling discouraged today, as I don't understand why I am not losing ANY weight when I am on a 1200 calorie a day diet :( why only eat 1200 cals a day if I am NOT going to lose any weight. Do blood pressure meds cause wieght gain or possibly water rentention? maybe that is what is going on with you.

I'm no expert nor am I a doctor but don't be discouraged. It's a blip on the radar! Keep doing what you've been doing except get back to your water intake. Water makes a big difference. Check with your dr. See if you can change the time of day that you take your meds. That can make a difference too. What about vitamins? All of this to say, there are a number of things you can look at that may need adjusting so that you will go from  to  . You can do it!

water is very important, stay away from bread and red meat and try eating more turkey and chicken, brown rice not instant helps alot 1/2 cup or 1 cup I add carrots and celrontro and season it other wise it is really bla if you like bla than plain is better. you can eat lots of veggies and fruit the fruit gives you the natural sugar you need. also if you are working out and not eating correctly eating processed foods you will gain instead of lose. it was hard for me at first to eat better but if you buy the good stuff it's not so hard, i hope that some of this helps Dont look at what you cant eat and look at what you can...:)))

The time of day you exercise is largely irrelevant, but the water probably has a lot to do with it. Also, your new medication might be interfering with the weight loss. That's not uncommon.

Up your water, keep the exercise up, and soldier on. You've just introduced a few changes but your body will adapt to them and the weight loss should resume soon.

I think the hardest thing to deal with is how discouraged you feel when you don't see a difference...but just think how good you feel when you try on clothes and they fit  or when someone you haven't seen in a while notices you've lost weight  That always makes me feel better
and just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming....

I just started working out and eating right. When I stepped on the scale yesterday I wanted to slit my wrists. So, I have come to the conclusion that if the scale depresses me that much I am just going to jugde my progress on how I look to myself and if I feel strong and healthy. Sometime we are going to have an "off" week but if you are too hard on yourself you won't value yourself for all the progress you have made up to this point, you'll only be judging yourself based on one little "blip in the radar" (like jmksousa said). Dust yourself off and get back to work. You got this!

I have been on 1200 calories a day for almost 2 months with no results. Do you think I need to eat MORE?

Thanks! i did think about this last night before i weighed myself, I took some pics when i started and some last night and I can see a difference, and people are noticing too i guess i just though the number and the "look" would go hand in hand. I have been doing things the right way now for about 3-4 months no starving myself or barfing the food out right after dinner when no one is watching i was just ready to see a different number =( but i guess it is true what they say that scale lies!!!

I think it also depends on how you've set your activity level and are you taking any meds? drinking plenty of water? i'm not an expert i set my mfp activity level to sedentary and 1200 a day it helped but i saw more changes in my body when i started working out, are you seeing any changes in your body???
