Best Heart Rate Monitor Watch

For the last several years, I have had a great heart rate monitor. My Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor Watch has just kept going and going. Yesterday, the wristband snapped during one of my workouts.. And therefore isn't going to work.
Since it's been awhile since I've gone and researched heart rate monitors, I was wondering if anyone knew of the best ones for this time? I've seen brands I don't recognize, like Mio, and am not sure they are a good brand or not.

Stick with Polar. They are the best. You may even be able to find a replacement wristband. I have the FT60 because I won it, but the FT4 is what I would have gotten if and when my F6 gives out.0

How is Polar with replacement parts? Might be worth contacting them about getting the wristband replaced, and probably cheaper than getting a whole new HRM.0

I am a authorized dealer of polar and I will admit that polar customer service and trying to replace parts is the worst I have seen in the industry. However, polar is the top as far as reliable, user friendly, and cost effective, especially if you are already used to using their monitors. My personal new favorite is by far called Digifit. It is the cheapest you will find and give you more features than anything you will find out there. The only downfall to using this unit is you have to have a iPhone or iPad.0

I'd still say FT4, I researched this over and over and was considering getting the FT7 but there were more people having problems with the FT7 than the FT4 like overestimating calorie burn, not working, turning off and deleting data among other things.

Thanks everyone. Since I am impatient, I will probably end up replacing it with another FT4.
Wish I had an iPhone - so many apps related to fitness...0 -
I have been browsing a few posts about hrm's, what are the benefits, would it work for walking the dog, I have some workouts where there are mixed with cardio and weights would one benefit me for that, and how do you use them! I also use an exercise bike!
I thought I would ask with you already having experience with them0 -

They would benefit you most if you were doing cardio only like your bike or walking your dog, but they're still useful for cardio mixed with weights. I usually knock of a few calories for those workouts though. The ones with the chest strap are supposed to be the most accurate, you wet the strap, attach it around your ribcage, clip on the transmitter and put the watch on and go! I like to put the strap and transmitter on under the bra because it feels like it will slip down otherwise.0 -
Gadgets are so much a matter of preference, and I suspect I'm in the minority, but I don't like Polar at all.
I have a Garmin FR60 which I totally. It's easy to use and gives me the info I personally want. Plus I have the foot pod for it so I can use it to track my distances when running.

Sorry to be off topic, but is that a real pig in your photo? It's really adorable!0

Lol yes it is, but it's not mine. It's just the cutest isn't it0

It is, it looks too cute to be real!0

I like my FT7 and so far haven't had any problems with it. That said, any Jeweler can replace that band easily enough. It may not be an exact match but it will work.0

I have a mio and it works good but I dont have anything to compare it to0
