I have been viewing a lot of threads here on MFP and I'm curious to what people's diet plans consist of. How are you guys losing so many pounds in a small amount of time?? I have been counting my calories (1200-1400 a day) and exercising 3-4 times a week for almost two months now and have only lost 6 pounds. Just wondering....

Are you eating back you excercise calories? You may actually not be eating enough.0

I am following Low Carb. I stay within 1200 or so calories but always at 25-35 carbs max !! This works perfect for me. There's always something on the menu I can eat and cooking has become a joy again. I'm a firm believer that if you don't eat enough, your body will NOT get rid of what it is holding on to.
I've lost 18 pounds in 6 weeks and overall 12 inches !! And I have never felt better !!!0 -
Without viewing your diary it is hard to say...It could be a number of things, really.
Are you eating the right kinds of food? Lean protein, veggies, fruits
Are you exercising? Even going for a walk
Honestly, if you are eating 1200 calories a day, that is probably too few. Some people on here have had success at 1200 calories and I did for a short amount of time, but it didn't last long. Try to stay around 1400. Eat back at least a portion of your exercise calories. And make sure you are eating well. It is about quantity AND quality!
Good luck0 -
I don't think it's in the cards for all of us to lose weight quickly. I've always had to fight for every pound, no matter how perfect I was with everything. I have a crappy metabolism, and I've made peace with that. Maybe your metabolism is slower, too. That being said, I still think you should be proud of your 6 pound loss. That's 3/4 of a pound each week! It doesn't seem like much, but if you continue to lose at that pace, you'll be to goal before you know it.0

Check out the Spike Diet (there is a group). I was like you and had plateaued for 2 months until I tried this plan. It basically just cycles your calories. Nothing fancy & easy to follow. I have lost 20lbs in 2 months on it. I would go to the group page & read the bullet points, it basically explains it there. You can also purchase the book which is a very short read & very helpful.0
