Personally, that is too low calories for me and would stall my weightloss, plus be a little unrealistic for me to keep up that low of calories (but it may work for you). If you are not getting enough nutrition from your diet you will have to supplement a lot of vitamins, minerals, probiotics, protein (amino acids) powder, etc. If you are working out, the calories should be upped.

I would skip the artificial sweeteners like in soda, and too much pre-packaged foods, and too much going out to eat, and cook/bake more from scratch and organic/wholesome ways. Homemade, healthy versions of desserts get easier and easier to do (I keep making raw almond butter chocolate chip cookies with stevia...yum!).

I really see you are trying and some meals look good like noodles, meat, veggies and sauce all go together nicely. If you need to eat gluten-free you should do that again, I have many tips, I've been gfree for years and so is my son.

I don't know, I'm not a nutritionist and hope you don't take any offense : ) I do want to be a certified holistic health and wellness coach, though. I certainly know I'm not perfect, I want a hot dog every now and then or some corn bread ; )

What you do eat doesn't look too bad, there just needs to be more of it, especially fresh cooked stuff and veggies. Looks like you need to build muscle and reduce body fat rather than lose weight, and this is pretty much impossible at a large deficit.

Gluten won't make you gain or lose weight, it's more that the foods containing gluten are generally unhealthy stuff like bread, cAkes, pastries etc, and by eating gf you are forced to make healthy choices. If you choose the healthier stuff without going gf you should get results, if not you are eating the wrong cals level or not logging accurately.

In note to artificially sweetened drinks also applys to gluten free,if you don't need to eat gf then don't because they are taking out the grains and replacing it with something artificial. You are better off with natrual foods. But eating that way is hard. If what your doing is working then don't change. If not try only having your sweets and sodas and whatever you would think is bad once a week but don't pig out on your cheat day :)

What you do eat doesn't look too bad, there just needs to be more of it. Just zig zag your caloric intake, but stay within your weekly goal. It looks good to me, just up the Protein and complex carbs on some days.

I spent many years thinking that calorie count was paramount, but the nutritional quality of the food one eats is equally important. My recommendations to you would be:

    1. Eat more. You are under 1200 calories quite often, which means you are not giving your body enough fuel, especially if you are exercising too.

    2. Eat more fresh/whole food. It looks like you are doing well with grains, and greek yogurt is awesome for you (I wish I could stand the stuff!), but your diet seems to be lacking vegetables, fruit, and lean protein. Perhaps some salads with chicken breast/ground turkey/tuna or some simple stir-fry dishes would be good, and the added bonus is that it is easy to make enough for leftovers!

    3. Cut out the junk. There is nothing wrong with having a treat, but some days it looks like 33% of your calorie intake is coming from food that has no real nutritional value. Try to limit yourself to no more than one indulgence per day- a brownie OR teddy grahams; zucchini bread OR baklava. If you want to limit yourself to 1200-1300 calories a day, make 'em count!

None of us are perfect (I had Doritos, Coors Light, and chocolate for dinner last night), and the recipe necessary for you to achieve your goals may only be found through trial-and-error. Congrats to you for being on the right track and for seeking advice that will help you become a healthier person. Good luck!
