Staying fit and healthy on a vacation

My best friend and I are going to tour through Cornwall in September for 10 days, and I'm scared that I will fall back into the worst habits then.
Since we're both students we're trying to keep it as cheap as possible - we're staying at hostels (usually no kitchen access) and can't afford restaurants often, so our meals will probably mainly be something from a supermarket that doesn't need to be cooked or otherwise prepared. Which leaves us with unhealthy bagged stuff, premade sandwiches and similar things :( I know there's fruit and veggies for snacking but I have no ideas for regular, full meals. And since we're backpacking without a car we can't really take much leftover stuff with us. (When I did the same with my mum we just kept a freezer bag in the car)
I can already hear fish'n'chips and fudge cake calling our names (we both love that stuff way too much).
Plus there won't be much chance for exercise except for the regular walking everywhere/doing sightseeing...

Any tips on how to make sure I stay at least somewhat healthy?

If your walking everywhere and carrying your stuff from different hostels day to day, youll be getting loads of exercise! Eat all the fish & Chips, cornish pasties and Scones W Cornish cream you like! Yummmmm!!

Otherwise you could buy salad stuff to take back to your room and put together, hmmm its a toughie with you having no access to even a microwave or plates!

I wish you the best and hope you enjoy your break away!

You should be thinking of this as a life style change more so than a diet. But if you are changing your life style, not dieting, you will enjoy yourself but pick the healthier options. This should become second nature to you, this is what I'm aiming for . I am going to Madrid in a few weeks, and instead of guzzling litres of wine.. I will be sticking to my vodka and diet cokes, not gorging on bread before dinner, having meat and salad for dinner... little things like that. If you completely let yourself go it will be so hard to go try snap back into your healthy routine. I will not be maintaining my exercise regime but I figure we will be walking all over the city which will no doubt be sufficient exercise while on holidays. Enjoy !

ive stayed in hostels and they all had kitchens for you to store and cook your stuff. salads and cooked lean meats are good and if your going to the supermarkets you can chose the healthy foods.

Haha well I do plan on getting some of the sweets - it's a holiday after all ;) but I doubt we'll be trekking around enough to validate so many cals to be added!
Oh and I forgot to mention - we do have capming plates and cutlery, at least. But microwave is out. There might be a kettle available in some of the hostels.

We e-mailed the hostels we're staying at and since they're in quite small towns they usually only have one kitchen reserved for larger groups to book with their stay. We might just go up to any other group and ask if maybe we can use the kitchen as well but who knows if they'll agree.

Salads are a good idea I completely forgot.
