    I'm excited!!

If you have iTunes or Rhapsody or whatever media player you have, just download it and it should be on that program. Hook up your mp3 player to your computer and some drag-and-drop, some you have to push a certain button, blah blah. LOL! It's just different. I am using the podcasts from gonicoleyourself.com. Good music to run/walk to.

I have a meeting at work tonight at 7:30, so I will probably do this at... 5 ish, I think. Once again, I don't think my scale is right, but we will see next Tuesday. LOL!

    Starting weight: 206.6 (9/28/09)

    Let's do this, ladies!!
  • I'm with you! I will start with D1W5 and repeat it until you catch up (week 5 that is), and its a program worth doing, and will boost your energy too...

What part of the country are you in? South Florida here, so running in the heat for another month or so...

i finally figured out the podcast thing around noon today, lol! i'm so technically challenged!

stahlight - how are you liking it so far? what is your starting weight...if your comfortable giving it?

I'm in BC canada, its starting to get a little chilly here...but its still nice. will probably have to run in rain quite a bit though lol!

Clacourse - update on how you did when you get back, i'll do the same!

Whew!!! I just got back... rough... but I feel great. LOL! The last 2 or 3 jogs I was like... "Oh dear gracious... help me!!" LOL! But like I said, I feel great. I gotta take a shower and go to my meeting at work. I have sweat pouring down my face. Just make sure you bring water with you. You will want it.

Good luck ladies (and gentleman) You will be glad you did it!! (Although I am glad there's a rest day in between)

    Go us!

I want to join you guys for this too! I have a lot of weight to lose so I'm not sure how this will impact my knees but I started it today (the stationary bicycle always makes my knees hurt the next day so I am trying to be careful.) I was inspired by your posts and hopped on the treadmill after I looked up the program. I felt great afterwards! Good luck everyone!
  • OK did W1D1 today and it felt great! I am tempted to skip ahead to week 2 because this was too easy, but I am just going to take it slow and enjoy that it's not too hard yet because know it will get harder.

I forgot to weigh in this morning; the weight I used when I signed up here is from a week or so ago. So I will weigh in tomorrow and edit my post. Hopefully I have dropped a couple lbs from doing P90X this past week.

    WTG everyone!

i have a lot to lose as well. i had actually bought myself a stationary bike and had to take it back because it was causing my knees to much trouble. good luck, i hope this works for you!

    W1D1 finished!!

I thought the first 60 second run was going to kill me, i had such a hard time breathing afterwards, lol! but about halfway through it started going great and i was feeling awesome! i need to get some better shoes though because the bottoms of my feet are killing me. skate shoes aren't meant for running, lol!
  • @TaraJ16

I started the year at 268.8, by april was down to 241, but then depression and slacking hit me, bounced back to about 250ish... but have been steady, so now for the next push...

The podcast is great and paces me well, so I like it a lot...

oh, and just thought i'd add that it was pouring rain tonight and i about froze my *kitten* off, lol!
  • Weighed in today- down 4 lbs in about a week and a half!
  • shelly, WTG!

the first couple of weeks you get a big drop, then a more steady pace... its always nice :):drinker:
  • Hey guys I'm late! I woke up to no internet and a bunch of other messes on Monday so I didn't get to start.......BUT.....I started today!!!!!

I thought it was pretty easy after the first interval, I was tempted to keep running. I stuck to the rules though and I'm glad I did. I agree Shelly, its going to get harder so I'm going to take it easy and go with the flow.

By the end I was feeling it in my right calve. I guess I didn't stretch enough. Just as I considered stopping I noticed a Pit Bull looking dog, no leash charging in my direction from the other side of the park! Holy crap, talk about putting your all into the last part of your workout!!!!

I know your not supposed to run from a dog. I froze for a split second and considered my options. He was far enough from me that I was able to run towards the fence and hop! LOL It was like 6 feet high!!! I'm adding that to my calorie burn for the day too!!!! I'm not a spring chicken anymore and hopping a fence ain't as easy as it looks on TV!

Anyway, I finished my last interval outside the park along the main road and made it safely back to my car!

I don't weigh in every week, only once per month. My last weight was 180 and that was Saturday. I am considering weighing myself more often while I do this program, so I will probably weigh in next Monday with you guys.

I'm day off so I will run Thursday and Saturday, ehile you guys will probably do Wed and Fri, But I'll get back on schedule with you guys on Monday!
  • ^^^ Wow, I've never had a dog chase me while running! Scary! :noway:

Weighing in every month versus every week is probably better than every week. I want to weigh every day, but that is too obsessive so I settle for every week. One thing I am planning on doing tonight is taking photos of myself to compare down the road. Sometimes inches go away more so than pounds so pictures can be the true test.

i think weighing in once a month is a great idea...but i couldn't do it, lol! i have a hard time only stepping on the scale once a week!

omg @ the dog, that would've scared the crap out of me! my mom, sister and i did our run through the park with young boys watching us during soccer practice, lol!
  • D1W5 done, plus 4 extra minutes of running... boy am I soaked... about 78+ humid outside...

Also some softball, which we sucked at...

683 calories on the day, w00t!

Despite the fact that I wore awful shoes for running the first day... my knees felt fine the next morning! I am so glad that I am able to do this without it being painful. Hope everyone is doing great!
  • Katie I have Patella Femur Syndrome, so I understand your concern with your knees. If you can, get some really good shoes and that will make it so much easier for you. I will probably wear my knee braces when I lose a little bit, cause they don't fit right now, lol:laugh: :embarassed:

Stahlight I envy you right now:laugh: Its so darn cold in Michigan right now!!!!!!!!!! I guess the grass is always greener............
  • I agree, WannabeaCullen, after the first interval of W1D1, I thought, "oh, I must be a little advanced for this, I should skip to W2." GLAD I DIDN'T!! By the end of W1D1, I realized that I was not at all advanced and W1 was just where I needed to be! I did W2D1 yesterday, and I found it to be equally challenging, but in some ways easier because there are only 6 intervals of running rather than 8. I just pace myself and run rather slowly. I run on a track around the football field, and the way W2 works out, I run for half a lap and walk for half a lap. It goes by pretty fast with the MP3 podcast I listen to.

i'm doing W1D2 this evening. my running days are going to be mon, wed, thurs. i know you're supposed to leave a day in between, but my sister works friday nights and weekends are way to busy.

i'm looking forward to tonight, its actually a nice day out so i won't have to do this in the pouring rain, lol!
  • Well, just finished my 3rd day of running this week. I'm running 6 days a week instead of 3. Which I know isn't recommended, but I have been a runner before so I am doing it this way but I wll listen to my body and take a break if I need it.

I would def. have freaked out if there was a dog chasing me... :noway: I am doing D2W1 today. Gonna try it at the gym on the treadmill. I will see which I like better and stick with that. I probably will like just running around my house because I always feel like I'm gonna fall off the side of the treadmill. I can't walk straight, let alone run straight...

Anywho... great job, everybody!! Keep it up!

Well, dang... I didn't get to do C25K today. :ohwell: I will tomorrow at the gym. I fell asleep today after work and didn't get to do it. LOL! So... tomorrow, it is!
  • shellybelly, are you doing W1? You mentioned you'd been a runner before, so I wondered if W1 might be a little slow for you...?
  • Yes, week 1 is a little slow for me but I want to take things slow since I'm also doing the P90X workout program. I considered skipping ahead but my muscles have been very sore from that program so 'm glad I didn't.

Couch to 5k is how I started running though, I had never been a runner in my life. In gym class in high school I refused to run. LOL But it becomes very addicting, I definitely loved it, wish I had never quit. I want that "runner's high" back.

today is going to be day 3 for me....and its pouring rain again!!

while i'm doing it i feel sore and can't wait for it to be over, but at the same time i'm enjoying it if that makes sense. and i love the feeling i have afterwards, i feel great...minus some knee pain. i'm hoping that as i lose weight the pain in my knees will go away. and i'm looking for a really good supportive sports bra and hopefully that'll make it a little easier as well and my shoulders and boobs won't be so uncomfortable
  • OK I did it! Just finished D2!

I have to say that today was harder than the first. I did make sure to stretch real good before, so that made it bearable. It is cold here, so I wore a hoodie, not the greatest idea I guess. I'm still hot and I already showered, LOL. O well, I'm so proud of myself I don't even care!

I feel a little high, if that makes sense. I mean I wanted to die out there in the road, but at the same time I couldn't give up no matter how much the little devil on my shoulder told me too. Does that sound crazy???:ohwell:
