I didn't feel like cooking last night, so I made grilled cheese sandwiches. Last night's were cheese, onion and bacon. I often do cheese and apple with dijon mustard or brie with apricot jam on raisin bread. What's your favourite way to do grilled cheese?

    TRUTH.

God I love grilled cheese sandwiches. They're just not the same on gluten free bread though :(

Grilled PB&J sandwiches are way better! My students introduced me to them, and they were amazing! High in calories though, lol.

I once saw a show that said any combo of cheese, bread, and jam makes a great grilled cheese. I'd be scared to test some combos, but so far any cheese we've had in the house has tasted acceptable with any jam and bread.

Brie with chocolate chips and fresh basil on sourdough. Trust.

Also, Gruyere with thinly sliced Granny Smith apples and dijon mustard.

I also like any type of grilled cheese but for a heartier sandwich I like to add tuna with mozzerela cheese.

I've only ever made grilled cheese with bread, a little butter, and a slice of american cheese. Add some tomato soup and I'm good to go.

Yours do sound really good though!

I love grilled cheese too...my new favorite is 2% American Cheese, Avacado & Sweet Onion on Vienna Bread with a homemade garlic cilantro butter (light). I absolutely love it.

I have made a grilled dessert with 1 slice of bread cut in half, a little light butter on the outside with natural peanut butter and soy free choc chip between the bread...Yum!

I've discovered a trick to enjoying my grilled cheese sandwiches just a little healthier: I have a misto (fancy misting bottle for oil) and I lightly mist my bread with EVOO. Then I bake them in the oven (I'm sure it helps that I have a convection oven). Boyfriend likes it so it's working out well.

I just made some Sunday with chipotle cheddar (fresh from the cheese factory in Wisconsin YUM!) on whole wheat with the progresso chunky tomato soup. It was kind of plain, but considering the level of my hangover it was all I could do not to order a pizza :ohwell:
