My absolute NumberONE Eliptical motivation song is My Chemical Romance's Planetary GO!
It bumps up my work out and me!
I keep a whole section of MCR song on my gym tunes playlist which includes but is not limited to ---
    Puddle of Mudd-Spaceship
Shinedown - Sin with a Grin OR Cry for Help
    Incubus - Priceless
The Pretty Reckless - Make Me Wanna Die
Ludo - Too Tired to Wink
Red Line Chemistry - Johnny Come Alive OR - Ultragigantor
Shaman's Harvest - Turn It Up
    RedLight Kings - Underground
    Queensrych - the Needle Lies
1000 Foot Krutch - Let the Sparks Fly
Living Colours - Cult of Personality (got that one from a gym rat)
and I especially love to end my work out with MCR's Dead because thats how I should feel and that is what the work out is. Dead! :oD

K-Pop and Latin are my favs to workout to, fast beats, good music, and can only understand a little so I focus on the ,music itself and zone out. lol

    K-Pop faves:
    Big Bang
    B.A.P.
    MBLAQ
    SHINee
    Super Junior
    2pm
    Wonder Girls
    2ne1
    MISS A
etc... Once you find those, you'll find a whole bunch more. ;)

    Latin:
If you have ITunes I love these albums and there mixes:

Biggest Loser Workout Mix: Latin Dance Walking
Latin Dance Hits 1: Non-stop continuous dj mix for cardio
    Ultimate Latin Dance Workout 2
    Ultimate Latin Dance Workout Remixed
Ultra. Latino: Mixed by DJ Buddha

I listen to other types of genres and artists like Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, PitBull, Kat Deluna, Beyonce, etc. As well as Indian, oh and arabic/middle eastern! Some good mid east artists are Nancy Ajram, Ishtar Alabina, Sirusho, and Sofi Mkheyan (there's tons more btw xD)

For weights I generally listen to something heavy. No I'm not talking about Avenged Sevenfold or anything that fits into the rap/rock genre. (except RATM....the ONE exception to this rule) Try The Chariot if you want to hear the heaviest of all heavys. They light their guitar amps on fire during their shows for crying out loud, and I have never seen a crazier more energetic show. (and ive seen some nutzo stuff) Or maybe something a little more punk rock and angsty like mewithoutYou or Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs first albums. Idk

For running or biking I like to listen to actual hip hop like Mos Def, Talib Kwali, Watch the Throne, Wu-Tang, Notorious BIG, (Tupac can suck it!). Or I'll go for something incredibly quiet and relaxing. Depends on the day I guess. If I can fall asleep to it, its perfect for a good outdoors run or ride. ie) Sirgur Ros, Damien Jurado, The National, Bon Iver, or pretty much anything that has just an acoustic guitar and beautiful vocals.

I listen to pretty much everything from classical piano ballads to The Chariot....(seriously, check them out haha) so at some point pretty much everything is on my playlist. However, if you can hear it on a major radio station....odds are I don't listen to it because it's watered down garbage, and it probably sounds just like the last ten songs you heard before it. In my opinion, if the general population will like it, it's not worth listening to. Not always the case...I do love Adele and a couple others that win grammys.

I found this website a couple of weeks ago and it has tons of great workout music. It's set up for walking, running and cycling by beats per minute / miles per hour but I found great songs for any kind of workout.

The Jay-Z / Linkin Park Collision Course collaboration is one of my favorites. Also, like Motley Crue, Hollywood Undead, Seether, and the new B.O.B. album.

    good choices!

I listen to Chromeo. If you like dancy 80s throwback with more bass, this is for you. It's like Prince and Huey Louis n the news on crack. Disco, techno. Real move you music. Trust me. And friend me! I got so much motivation to deal out. Could use some back too!

I listen to Pandora's, 'Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout' station. The beats in the songs played always sync up to a nice cadence when I am on the Treadmill, Cross Ramp and Elliptical. It gets me in a nice zone.

(This station plays cuts by Nicky Minaj, Calvin Harris, FloRida, Cobra Starship, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Usher, Deb, Ke$ha, David Guetta, Katy Perry, Afrojack, etc). I listen to all types of music, but no other station gets played when I'm doing cardio! LOVE IT!!!

Being the total book worm/ nerd that I am, I usually listen to audio books when I run :blushing: 'Sometimes I listen to music, but that varies from Mozart, Eminem, Maroon 5, Tim McGraw, Train...really random and it totally depends on my mood

Lots and lots of heavy metal

Yep, it's the only way to go. The more pissed off the song, the better in my book.

I don't listen to any music during workouts anymore. At first I couldn't do a workout without it but now I just listen to the DVDs. lol

I listen to Tony Horton and the generic P90X sounds.

When I am training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu we usually have it on a hard rock radio station, but when I am in the moment of rolling I get tunnel vision and tune out the music.

If I'm on a long run, I'll listen to an audio book.
Short runs or lifting and it's upbeat rock, some country and, of course, selected pieces from the Rocky Soundtrack.

    This sounds pretty fun!

I put Pandora on The Sisters of Mercy station. Usually queues up The Cure, Bauhaus, New Order, Joy Division, Mission UK et al. Not necessarily upbeat, but it's the music I know best and it helps me to keep going when I'm all 'Oh I love this song!'

Actually with Spotify, I can listen to whatever strikes me whenever I like. This morning's working out was with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.
