do you base the nutritional information on packages of cooked foods of uncooked? for foods like pasta, spaghetti and rice that come dry?

naah cause it really depends how you cook and what all you add0

The description on my pasta box is for "dry". It says 2oz of pasta = xxx and yyy and zz nutrients. So I weigh out exactly 2 oz and boil it up. I assume this is the same with rice, etc.0

Yup. Dry foods like pastas and rice are definitely weighed before cooking. they usually give a "1/2 cup uncooked makes 1 cup cooked" or something on the label to.0

thank you im in the UK and everything just seems to say 'typical values for 100g' so i never know whether they mean uncooked or cooked0

It depends on what the package says. I usually base it on the cooked amounts. When in doubt, you can always Google the nutritional information for the basic product. For example, "brown rice". Sometimes it's hard to know whether the serving amount is cooked or uncooked.0

you'd weigh out 100g of dry pasta since that's what the label says is a serving size.0 -

Sometimes I forget and thrown the whole box in the pot. It always frustrates me that they don't list the size of a *cooked* serving.
In that case, I will take the entire pot of cooked pasta, drain it, then pour it into a bowl and weigh the whole thing on my kitchen scale--then divide by the number of servings on the box, so I can weigh out one serving of cooked pasta. My wife teases me relentlessly about it ("you're even weighing the DOG'S food now?"), but, being as I have lost 53lbs and she has lost el squato, I guess I am getting the last laugh...0
