Edamame Calories & Portion

I'm confused. I bought 2 packs of edamame yesterday, one with the pods and one without the pods. For both of them, one 1/2 cup serving = 120 calories. Now, I would think a person would eat more edamame in 1/2 cup portion when they are not in a pod compared to those in the pods. So why would the calories be the same? So for the podded ones, is teh 1/2 cup for without the pods? I checked other brands and they are like that also, same calories, same serving for with or without the pods. Help!

its because you don't eat the pods, just whats inside of them. at least thats how we eat them.0

Both are listing calories without pods. Always shell edamame. The pod is not good.0

Thanks! Yea, I don't eat the pod. I just buy the one with the pod, so that I need to do more work and thus, I'll eat less. Thanks again!0
