Are Your Friends to Blame?

I guess I am writing this post because I am sure I am not the only person who's has experienced this from a friend or family member. I took a month off from personal training because honestly, I wasn't financially capable of continuing. So i discussed this with a friend and the first remark out of her mouth was. "I think you should keep going to your trainer, because you can't do it alone". You've haven't done it in all these years, what makes you think you can do it now?" I was highly upset about this comment, that a friend, someone who is supposed to be your biggest supporter is telling you how much you can't. I didn't let this stop me. You know, she was right about one thing, you can't go through this process alone. But the one who makes the effort is me and me alone. All of us who are losing weight need that support system not someone that will knock you down. Obviously, I stopped talking to this friend because i realized that someone who doesn't believe in me isn't worth my time. It's time to focus on me and getting myself healthy. I've been exercising at home and eating the right foods. I push myself the way my trainer would because I know that I can do more and will do more. The next time she sees me, which probably won't be anytime soon, she will choke up those words and I will gladly say how I did it without her.

I guess this post isn't to pose the question, but to vent. I am no longer anger, if not motivated to show everyone that I can and I will!

PS. I start working out with my trainer again next week! woot!

xo, J

Good for you!! I agree, I think we all have friends who try to weigh us down....make us stop believing in ourselves in their passive-aggressive ways!! That makes us stronger!!!! WE CAN DO IT !!!!!!!
