The gym I go to has started an Insanity class Monday through Thursday for the next 9 weeks. I was just wondering, do I need to lift weights during the time I am doing this class, or is this considered strength training as well as cardio?

I have done insanity and it is not really strength training. I mean you use your body weight to do exercise so depending on how good of shape you are in it could be. I personally love it. It is one of the hardest things I have ever done but the results have been awesome. Depending on your goals I would run insanity to cut some fat then do a nice clean bulk after you finish insanity to preserve as much muscle as you can. P90x is a good way to go after insanity if you are not familiar with weight training. However you do get a good workout with insanity they mix up the types of pushups you do and you are always working your core.0
