Day 15 and feeling good!

My name is Steve. I live in Northern Indiana near Chicago. I am 43 and the father of four kids from 22 down to 15. I had a life changing event 15 days ago when my heart went into "A-Fib" and I thought I was going to die! It was that afternoon when I decided that enough was enough, and that I was too young to die. While in the cardiac ward of the hospital, I met with a cardiologist and he informed me that I weighed 180kg. I thought to myself, well I probably don't even want to know how much that is. As soon as he left, I grabbed my phone and googled the conversion. Wow! it hit me hard, I weighed 398lbs! I knew after my back injury I had gained weight from not being active, but 400lbs? I was of average weight until I was in my late 20's after I got out of the service. I hit 200lbs when I was 28, then 300lbs when I was in my mid 30's. Now I'm on a mission! My weight goal is a realistic 250lbs. I have changed my diet to only eating healthy foods. I also gave up soda and cigarettes! I did find out after a complete work up that my cholesterol, sugar, and bp are all within a healthy range, amazingly enough for being so heavy! Along with my new "food diet", I have added walking at least one mile per day. After I drop a few pounds I will add more distance, but right now my knees and feet don't want to walk further. I still can't weigh myself on a regular scale, so I'm not really sure how much I weigh after the 15 days of eating healthy. My clothes are fitting a little different though. I love the MFP application, and look forward to establishing a support network here online. My profile picture is my 19 year old son and I. The photo was taken last July when he graduated from Army basic training. Hard to believe that when I was his age, I not only did the same thing, but I was also the same weight! Now I'm the weight of more than two of him! O.K. I know we can do this,I hope you guys will come along with me on my journey..
