Ideally, plain greek yogurt is the best. Maybe pair it with some fruit to cut the tartness and you are looking at the best option for yogurt. It has less calories, less fat and less sugar...and less yumminess. If you can eat plain yogurt of any kind, then you are a better woman than me :)

As far as rest of the options go, it depends. If you are working out, you are going to want the most protein. If you are cutting calories then you want the less caloric. Sugar always creeps up in any of these yogurts, but, if your sugar is a concern for you, then you want the one with the least amount of sugar.

I have compared labels with the typical store brands; Chobani, Oikos, Yoplait, etc and they all, for the most part, have the same nutritional value. I limit myself to one yogurt a day because they are higher in sugar, and I, personally, like Chobani the best.

We all have different goals in regards to nutritional value. When it comes to yogurt, for me at least, I pay closer attention to protein because I often use greek yogurt as an after work-out meal.

On a different note, Avocados are wonderful for burning fat!
  • Plain Greek yogurt is the way to go!:) my favorite brand is Fage, best tasting in my opinion, but if I can't find it I get chobani. Both have 18 g protein for only 100 cals and very few carbs. I like to put cocoa powder and stevia in my yogurt and it tastes just like a Wendy's frosty :D you can add other things like fruit to make it more exciting because plain yogurt pretty much tastes like cow all by itself.

I love Chobani, but I cannot stand plain Greek yogurt. I think it truly tastes terrible. I stick to vanilla or strawberry because they are the next lowest calorie favors.

The yoplait greek is basically regular yogurt with thickeners, really don't recommend it.

My favorite with plain greek yogurt with honey. Fage makes a single serving pack with a separate yogurt and honey containers so you can mix as desired. 170 calories or so. For fruit flavors I will typically go with Chobani. Their black cherry and blood orange flavors are killer. Chobani 0% is 140 cal per package. Dannon Oikos is ok but doesn't taste as good as Chobani in my opinion. Oikos is a slightly smaller package, but that does result in fewer calories, about 120.

The pre-flavored varieties will have more sugar. Otherwise the plain fat free greek yogurt is roughly the same for all brands.

I get a plain double protein one. It's not that great tasting, but it's not bad. And is a great snack paired with a fruit. :)

Fage Plain or Chobani Plain. I add fruit or honey to them and a tablespoon of chia seeds.

I've eaten Fage, Chobani and Oikos. I assume that nutritionally they are similar. My favorite brand is Oikos, although they're all good.
