I have not exercised really since I was like 17. I have always been thin, in fact I used to have a problem keeping weight on. I am now 30 and have a beautiful 6 moth old baby boy and a remaining 20lbs or so from my pregnancy. Does anyone have a very basic routine that would be possible to do while taking care of my son. Can't run I have funky knees and the impact messes with me. I really don't know how to go about this without a gym membership and really can't afford one right now.

Start off with 20-40min walks every second morning before breakky it'll boost your metabolism and shouldn't be too hard on the knees, and if you have ever heard of ZUMBA? its a dance work out routine, it can range from about $10-$15 a session so you can do a class once a week or so or every two weeks up to you...but ye do the walks and maybe after a abit try carrying weight and that means you can work on your arm and core strength at the same time...your diet needs to be clean...stay away fro sugary snacks and i recommend burgen bread low calories high in fibre great delicous stuff! eat eggs for brekkyor fruit with oats and if u feel like snacking grab fruit nuts or first have a cup of tea or glass of water cuz you might jst be thirsty :) hope this helps

    Bodyweight exercises, and baby-lifting.

(google for more; there are also playground exercises)

Baby-lifting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfQRD8O_Uo4 (again, google for more)

Stick the baby in a stroller and go for a walk.

Very Very helpful! I do some of these things already just playing with my son. Good to know I am not as lazy as I originally thought.
