There is a Warrior Dash in my town in September and I am intrigued! Those of you who have done it, what are your thoughts? How hard is it? Will I be a laughing stock if I can't finish it?
Should I do it?
Should I do it?

Its great. I did it in Denver last year and if you workout on a regular basis you will be fine. There were kids doing it in Denver. It a fun race where you can take your time and do each obstacle at your own pace. Do IT. You will feel great about yourself.0

Do it! It's not that hard if you work-out. No matter what your time is, you will finish. You can either run, jog or walk. Remember you are running thru hills not a concrete. IF you want to finish within 20- 30 mins and get the gold Warrior Helmet(the trophy) then you need to train running hills and work on your speed. I took my time and all I care is to do every obstacle and finish. So I run, jog in between then walk when it is going up the hill. Now my goal is to run more hills, so I can run the whole thing and be done in less time.0

Go for it!! I ran it last year and had a blast! Everyone that runs is in different shape. There a some people who were obvious runners and others who were just doing it to have fun. The race is ran in waves throughout the entire day so unless you're in the last wave no one will notice what time you finished in. My advice is to make sure you duct tape your shoes to your feet. The mud gets really sticky and my husband ended uo having to run it in his socks because his shoes git stuck. Also, wear clothes that you don't mind throwing out. Bring a second more comfortable outfit to change into for the ride home. It's a lot of fun and I recommend doing it0

I did a military version a couple of weeks ago (Spartan Race) and it was harder than I expected, but still do-able. If you couldn't do an obstacle, you were supposed to do 30 burpees, but no one was holding anyone to that (I counted in 5's for the last obstacle that I couldn't do).
I ran it as a team with some people from work (I work for the Army, but am not in the Army) and we helped each other out a lot and it made it a lot more fun.
I think the military version was harder than the "civilian" version and I've already signed up again for next year. Heck, I wanted to go back the next day, but no one would do it with me! It was a blast!
Good luck! Have fun!
