I hope you find him too!!! Will your neighbors know him, maybe ask around. What kind of dog is it? If you live in a big city, sometimes, rescue groups will sent emails out alerting members of the lost dog. just a suggestion. good luck!! let us know what happens.0

we just moved in sunday! he's a pit bull and looks scary but he's really a sweetie! im so upset! my concern is that he saw a cat and chased it to God knows where!0 -
is he fixed and/or microchipped? you need to alert the local shelters right away! most shelters give animals 3 days, thats it. pictures everywhere is a smart idea too.0

I lost my dog a few months ago luckily a neighbour took him in, he found a way to slip out of his caller. We got him back the next day. It was the most heart wrenching night of my life. Try not to worry too much. So many people are animal lovers.0

I hope you find him, keep us posted. I don't know what I would do if any of my dogs went missing. It must be an awful feeling. Good luck.0

aaaaaaaa......
I hope he's there in the morn!!0 -
Oh no. He'll be back though- make sure you phone the SPCA's or similar organizations to see if anyone has brought him in.0
-
Oh that's awful...I really hope you find him safe and sound!0

I hope you find him safe & sound.
I also hope you fire your poop scoop guy/company. It's irresponsible enough for a meter reader or pest control person to leave a gate open, but for someone who's there to provide a pet service... that's totally unforgivable IMHO. :mad:0 -
Hopefully he is chipped and tagged.
Go to animal control - do not call them. They can't keep up with what is coming in and out. You may need to go twice a day to see if they have picked him up.
Put up fliers EVERYWHERE with his picture. Give them to your postal carrier, the UPS person any anyone who is in your area frequently.
Call your vet and all of the vets in your area to let them know that he is missing.
Also, please check out this website. I've heard of several people who found their pets using it:

I'm so sorry. My landscapers leave my gate open occasionally. Surprisingly enough, my dog is not a runner and is always close by visiting neighbors. Hopefully your pup is with a neighbor.0

This is excellent advice. I worked at a shelter for 4 years, and you really do have to visit them once or twice a day - don't call! Usually the shelter will have a bulletin board or book for you to post your info, so take one of your flyers.
Also, I got a dog back by posting a notice in the newspaper offering a reward. He had been gone seven weeks!0 -
GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We found HIM!!!! He was hold up in a neighbors backyard! I dont have internet right now at home, so sorry to keep you all wondering. Thank you for your thoughts! i would but he;s the only guy in my whole county who offers this service.:grumble: he feels really bad, and i guess its mostly my fault for not explaining to him about the gate. we are all new to this new house, but thank you for your oppinion, i would feel the same way, if i wasnt soo happy to get my pooped scooped ! its really a service i cannot live without and my bf barfs when he even thinks about dog poop! :laugh:0 -

I used to have a pooper scooper service too - but he was so unreliable. I needed my poop scooped before the landscapers would come, and he was never on time.
Worse thing is having to scoop poop, change diapers and are 9 months pregnant!! The worst thing in the world.:sick:0 -
Yipeeeee....0

yeah! soooo happy!0

LMAO! No diapers and no preggers here, but agree, picking up poop no matter what your state stinks! Literally!
BTW, thanks everyone for all your good thoughts!0 -
Yay glad he's safe and sound!0

GIRL YOU BETTER CALL THE LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY!!! QUICK! THEY WILL PUT THEM TO SLEEP IF YOU DON'T CALL BEFORE 72 HRS HERE! I think that is despicable, I am a huge animal advicate and lover! I have two little miniature dacshunds and they are my heart (especially my teeny one named Shorty lol) ;-) I am sure that one of your neighbors probably got the little thing and he is safe and sound, go check with them dear, you might get surprised! Praying you find your sweet little guy!0
