C25K Rest Day Question

Good Afternoon, Party Peoples!
I'm re-starting C25K today (I did it last year, not as successfuly as I could have) and my goal is to a) complete it, and b) do it at a faster pace; and c) shake up my workout.
My question relates to what to do on the "in between days". I'm re-jigging my workout schedule based on the running program, and on Saturday, I have a free day. While that's normally awesome, I really like to go to the gym on Saturdays, especially becuase I like a litle extra buffer of calorie availability. Also, I'm aiming for activity 5 days per week.
My schedule is now looking like the following:
Friday - C25K, lower body weights
Saturday - ?
Sunday - C25K, full body weights
Monday - rest
Tuesday - C25K, upper body weights
Wednesday - Aerobics with an awesome bunch of ladies!
Thursday - rest
I know that rest is equally as important, but I'm thinking of filling my Saturday with some time on the stationary bike, arc trainer, or going for a long walk (all at a gentler pace). I know you really have to try it to see if it's working out or not, but I'm curious of your opinions as to whether that's pushing it, or what-not.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

I've never done the C25K program, but I think any of these activities you've listed would work well. I suggest you might even want to mix them up each week. When I'm in an exercise groove (not the case right now), I will aim to run 3x's a week, do other cardio 3x's a week, and strength train 4-6x's a week. That seems to work well for me - and the other cardio cross training really seems to benefit my running without leaving me too tired or my knees too stressed. Good luck!0 -
I am also doing the C25K program. I do my program on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday I go to Zumba and I swim on Saturday. Swimming is a great aerobic workout and strength training. I also do strength training three times a week.0
