Oh man oh man, I feel so bad.... Last night, I went out to eat with my husband to a new restraunt. I won't tell you what I ate, except that I ordered exactly what I wanted (including desert!), but only ate half of my entree and half of my desert... BUT STILL I was over my calories by more than 1,000!!!! The entire meal was almost 2,000.... I felt so sick, I went straight to bed almost as soon as we got home, and I haven't felt at all hungry today. I was thinking about just not eating anything today and fasting. What do you guys think I should do?

You still need to it today. Just get back on the horse, today is a new day. I would suggest though working out longer than usual today, and maybe not eating quite all your exercise calories. Other than that, just chalk it up to being human.0

Just keep going today like normal. Eat normally, and just take yesterday as a bad day. It's okay to splurge once in a while - as long as it's not all the time.
You'll be okay.

Start fresh today. You need to eat, otherwise you're going to shut down your metabolism. So, just eat at least 1200 calories of healthy foods and exercise a little more than usual if you're so inclined.0

Forgive yourself and move on0

Go back to NORMAL healthy eating. You can't correct one poor eating episode (over-eating) with another poor eating episode (fasting). Stay within your calories and get some exercise. Drink lots of water. You'll be fine.0

Don't starve yourself today. I hear you though. I pigged out yesterday for lunch, okay and snacks. I just decided this morning that it's a new day. Get back on that horse!0

I think that you should start this day anew and fresh! We all fall down, just get back up girl and get it right today...

Everyone deserves a splurge once in a while. 1000 calories isn't even 1/3 of a pound.
Like everyone said, just eat well today and exercise a bit more. :flowerforyou:0 -
I agree with the folks above! Today is a new day! And who knows, you might just 'shock' your system like SHBoss talks about, and get it losing weight more quickly again!!0

You're okay Honey!. Today is today and tomorrow is long gone away...0

I hadn't even thought about 1000 calories being only 1/3 of a pound. That puts a different perspective on a bad eating episode.
I'm happy to see that everyone is agreeing that just getting back on track, and not fasting after a bad meal0 -
I know we sound like a broken record, but NONE of us eat perfect all the time.
Just think about competitive athletes. They spend their entire lives getting ready for a performance, and then on that day, their brains fall out, and they have a bad day. Like they shake it off, we have to shake it off and move on.
Today is another day to get better, and become healthier.0 -
ya, my knee-jerk reaction is to starve myself in response to over-eating... The last thing I want to do is exercise more!  But I figure that is probably the better thing to do...0

Actually, if you went over by 1000, and 500 of that is deficit, then you only went over your maintenance by 500, and that is only about 1/6 of a pound. You probably wont even notice it by tomorrow if you drink lots of water today and exercise a little more. :happy:0 -
Thanks guys
I appreciate the encouragement.
