I only want to lose about 15-20 pounds but i feel like my legs are ruined. I have a fair amount of cellulite and stretch marks. I have very light skin too so that makes it even more noticeable.

I haven't worn a skirt or shorts since i was in middle school and this is why.

Are there any lotions that help with this ?
Any exercises ?

Wear a skirt or shorts and be happy with your body the way it is.

I wear skirts all the time. I'm unashamed of my big fatty stretch-marked legs. They're mine, they're beautiful, and I love them.

    Ignore the above poster.
Bio-oil can work for stretch marks and cocoa butter can also help, the former is expensive though.
They will fade with time and the cellulite will go with your exercise.

    I felt the same way!
I have a little more to lose but I will give you my cents,
you can run with them, or throw them in the fountain but here they are.

My legs were ruined, they still are not great but, I have to give myself credit when I say they are probably more than 40% better then they were.

    What have I been doing?
    Drinking more water, MORE water.
Using my legs more, MORE. Haha, I swear walking and moving them puppies is doing something!
I will take the long way, because the legs like it.
and more recently I am watching the foods I think are responsible for the cellulite... ultimately, I am responsible but I really do believe cutting back on certain things really helped. I've cut basically all my favorites.. just to see mind you what happens! Chips, cookies, fast food...
    or
bad fats...processed sugar... I do not even know what to call fast food but comfortable...but these are the things I know will help ruin my legs and if the self control is not there to enjoy them, id rather have them legs looking good :flowerforyou:
    good luck to you!

Yes, ignore the advice to love yourself. That's just silly.

That wasn't the question. Therefore your advice is useless. Do you answer questions of 'how do I lose weight?' with you don't need to...love yourself.

Weight train, and I use Nivea's Goodbye Cellulite Serum and Gel Cream. Perfect, no. Better, yes. But honestly? I'll wear what I damn well please. Doesn't really phase me.

Weight Train. Don't be a afriad of lifting heavy. What kind of workout/cardio are you doing now? The marks will fade over time. Some of the oils and lotions do help some.

i got a few tummy stretch marks during pregnancy. Bio-oil has been my best friend, Nivea toning lotion and Vitamin E oil. They have faded SO much! i had my son a year ago, and the stretch marks are already that silver/grey colour. good luck :)

Rudeness isn't what the site is for. Positivity is what the site is for. That advice was lovely. Chantal, I'm sure your legs are NOT ruined, just a bit out of shape. Shape them. Walk. Run. Climb stairs. Do pilates. Do yoga. Kickbox.

I wish i could see myself that way. The odd thing is i see other people who are bigger than i am with more strech marks and i see nothing wrong with the way they look but i see so many things wrong with the way i look.

Weights are a bit intimidating for me. Right now i am just using a elliptical. I haven't worked out in a long time though so i can only do it for about 5 minutes at a time. Eventually i would like to be able to do it for a hour.

Try 5min on the elliptical then 5min on the Treadmill. Once you can do that add a couple of min to each. I never stay on a Machine longer then 20-25min. Don't let the weights intimidate you. Start off small and light. Learn the Form and get used to them. You'll pick it up faster then you think.

I don't think you need an expensive lotion just any moisturiser used everyday helps & exfoliate (I love the wee gloves for in the shower) & weight train.

I'm just starting back on my plan and getting knee replacements over the summer (I had given up) I will have scars that will go halfway down my legs on top of the stretch marks from being 300+, so I know all about being afraid of how legs will look :-) my plan is to get the legs physically in shape, then ask a dermatologist if the scars or stretch marks really still bother me. I do know that some of the cocoa butters made my last scars fade and tanning sprays covered a friend's faint stretch marks for her wedding. Be proud of yourself and keep moving
