Heart rate monitor watch

I purchased a heart rate monitor watch today. It's a pro-form tx-100 from Walmart. You have to press 2 fingers on the sides to get it to read your pulse. How do I use it to tell how many calories I'm burning in a workout? Do I check my heart rate multiple times during my work out?

that's what I had to do with mine. I returned it and got a chest strap/watch combo0

What you need to do is return it and get one with a chest strap.
The watch only ones are not accurate and no matter how many times you press it, it will not be enough to give you an accurate estimation on calories burned. Unless you plan on standing there with two fingers on it the entire time.. then it might.0 -
I agree, all heart rate monitors that don't have a chest strap are not reliable and ends in frustration.0
