I really don't want to eat any food right now, thinking about it actually makes me feel sick but I have a volleyball tournament today and I know its not good to skip meals when I'll be exercising a lot. Any suggestions?

A big part of losing weight and living healthy is the simple act of eating. So, guess you better just do it...whether you feel like it or not. Sorry for stating the obvious lol :)

I may get blasted for this, but I'm a big proponent of listening to your body. If you're not hungry, your body doesn't want food. I would say that if you get hungry before the volleyball tournament, have something to eat. If not, 45 minutes to an hour before you start playing eat something small that has some fat and protein in it. During down time in the tournament, something like a Kind Bar (flavor of your choice) would be good to have on hand if you need to refuel.

I have times like that, make a good protein shake. put lots of healthy stuff in it. sometimes it takes putting some good stuff in to get your body to realize it needs more fuel.

if you dont want to eat then dont. as long you get your cals in sometime today that all that matters. like another poster said if you are worried about it, drink a protein shake. Good luck at your game!

Oh, I think she should force herself to eat even if the very idea makes her sick. [Just kidding.] Yes, what you said.

While I think it's good to listen to your body, I think that it's important to eat before major exercise. I used to row crew in high school, and we had several instances of rowers collapsing or passing out on the dock after a race due to skipping breakfast or only having a protein shake/bar. Even though you might not be hungry, your muscles are going to need the fuel later.

We were always taught to carb up the night before a race (we had communal pasta dinners), which was the most important part, and eat at least a small-medium breakfast several hours prior to the event. I'd suggest, if you're not hungry, eating a protein bar or drinking a shake or juice. Those tend to feel a bit less oppressive for me while still providing calories.

I had a granola bar before the game and another when I felt hungry later thanks for all the suggestions! = )
This usually happens to me on days that I have sports and I'm not sure why but I'll definitely be keeping protein shake mixes around to make real quick before big sports days!
