When factoring exercise this site suggest that I eat around 4000 calories. I I eat three Squares a day and no junk food and get around 1500. I don't feel tired or hungry. Is this thing broken or do people with a high activity level really eat this much?

If your activity level is coming out that high, any inaccuracy is figuring your calorie consumption during exercise could throw you way off. Regardless of how you calculate your exercise calories, you may have to make adjustments if your weight changes over time don't seem to conform to predictions.0

I am 6'1 300lbs. The base cals it gives me is 2200. I have been hiking 10-15 miles a day(training for a thru-hike) along with general fitness things like sit ups, pushups and weights in the morning. I have always been a real active person despite my weight. I just used to eat a lot of crap, like soda and candy that I don't anymore.
Even without the activity, I am coming 500-600 cals under.0 -
I would recommend that if you are exercising that much and you have changed unhealthy eating habits, just carefully log everything you're eating and see what your body does under its own guidance. You may lose weight just by eating according to your own appetite. Nothing terrible is going to happen to you if you eat what you're hungry for and are eating 1500-2000 kcal/day. People are afraid they will go into "starvation mode" and stop losing weight, but your body determines when that happens, not external calorie counts. I suspect your appetite will pick up as you get closer to your ideal weight.0
