I'm a super picky eater and unfortunately the foods I love are all high in calories. I've been trying to expand my taste pallet, but so far I still don't like most things that are good for me. I've been living on yogurt and lean cuisines. Does anyone have any recipe ideas for me? I'm not big on fruit, raw vegetables and nuts and of course I'm obsessed with all things chocolate, peanut butter, potatos, cookies, pumpkin, hamburgers,etc....the list goes on and on. I've been managing so far to avoid these foods, but I'm afraid I'm going to crumble and I really can't handle another setback. :frown:
I lost 35 lbs. last summer, but gained 15 of it back since. So now I'm back to needing to lose 70 lbs. I'm probably like a lot of people out there in that I have no time for anything. I work full-time then manage to get to the gym, but then I have maybe an hour at home before I need to head somewhere else (usually my freelance job or the theater for rehearsal or performance).

You sound exactly like me, and to boot I was a diet Coke fanatic. What I found was, as soon as I gave up the diet cokes, I stopped craving the sweets like chocolate as much (I used to eat a candy bar a day). I still want chips and salty snacks, but I try to keep easy snacks handy like smoked almonds, pretzels, 100 calorie bags of popcorn. As for my sweet tooth, while I am not a big fan of fresh fruit, I have been keeping a huge bowl of fresh fruit salad (strawberries, blueberries, and assorted seedless grapes) in the fridge and lowfat vanilla yogurt for a dip. I also love celery with some peanut butter for a quick sweet snack but crunchy and filling. I am not a veggie person AT ALL but there are a few I will tolerate so I just keep those around and make sure I have them with lunch and dinner, like green salads, cucumbers, zucchini ( I grill it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder) or fresh green beans with tons of garlic. And remember, the Lean Cuisines are packed with sodium so try to give up processed (frozen pre-made) meals. The sodium will cause you to really retain water. If you take 2 hours on Sunday and prep your meals and snacks in baggies for the week, it makes it easy to grab and go, and you are less likely to reach for something that isn't good for you. Oh and I love mini babybel light cheeses. They are portable and yummy and give you a quick healthy snack (and satisfies my need for salty tastes).
