Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup
We got this recipe on allrecipes.com and tried it last week. FABULOUS and super low calorie. And it's already in the food database!

Ingredients
4 cups chicken broth, divided
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 eggs
1 egg yolk
Directions
Reserve 3/4 cup of chicken broth, and pour the rest into a large saucepan. Stir the salt, ginger and chives into the saucepan, and bring to a rolling boil. In a cup or small bowl, stir together the remaining broth and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs and egg yolk together using a fork. Drizzle egg a little at a time from the fork into the boiling broth mixture. Egg should cook immediately. Once the eggs have been dropped, stir in the cornstarch mixture gradually until the soup is the desired consistency.
Calories: 64 for 1/4th of the recipe

Probably very reasonable, I quick calculated 148 per serving for sodium just by adding up the 1/4 tsp of salt and what the 2.5 eggs would be...but I didnt really consider if a yolk has more or less than an egg white lol.0 -

Thanks for posting! I made this for dinner tonight and it is a winner!
(it even came out OK even though I messed up and used an extra egg white instead of an extra egg yolk).
I used arrow root instead of cornstarch for my thickener and I also thickened it before adding the eggs (some of the comments on allrecipes said to do so for better egg consistency).0 -
It would also taste good with some drops of sesame oil.0
