Sundays are SOO challenging for me and I need some advice.
My mom is Italian, and my Dad's mom (my Grandma) is also VERY BIG INTO cooking huge meals even though she isn't Italian. lol
So every Sunday we go to my grandparents house for family "dinner"(at lunchtime), and there is a feast!
When I am around my family, We EAT! We all sit around the table and eat and talk. I am so good the whole entire week with my dieting but on Sundays I go crazy and pig out. It's all so tempting sitting in front of me. One of my trigger foods is macaroni and cheese, and I always say I won't have any, but then after sitting there starring at it I give in and pig out on it, and then as soon as I am done eating I flip out on myself.
This is a regular accordance. I work my butt off the whole entire week, and then gain a little back every Sunday, and then work on losing it the whole week, then gain it back Sunday...
I don't want to stop eating with my family, but I need to get in control of myself. Why do I keep losing control???

Instead of telling yourself you won't eat something before you go why don't you plan for what you know will be there. Once you are there fix your plate with what you are going to eat. Small portions of everything and then nibble on that plate the whole time you are there. Drink lots of water while you are there as it will help you feel full and you won't be as tempted to keep eating.0

Why don't you throw in an additional intense workout sunday morning... Then you won't feel so bad when you have the mac and cheese. I love love love mac and cheese... I haven't had it in 11 months.0

Yeah Sunday is the day I am supposed to be resting with my Power90 plan.
... I need to just stop eating it all together, it's really bad for you and soo many calories, but so darn tempting! lol

You don't need to stop eating anything. Cutting out foods completely usually leads to binging and things like that. Control how much you eat instead.0

You get this food on a regular basis... it's not a special occasion where you can't get it normally. Could you try small portions for 3 weeks of the month and then eat all you want on the 4th week?0

FIrst of all, your are NOT alone! We all lose control especially when you are around family or friends, or a ton of food!
Second of all, I think this is a PERFECT opportunity to LEARN how to control (i wish i could do this myself). I agree with all the posts above. Perhaps on SATURDAy workout extra hard. And on Sunday just take a LITTLE bit of what you want and DONT go up for seconds. And eat very slowly. I encourage you to make sure you drink a cup of water before you eat and drink water during the whole time your eating.
You can have yummy foods. just PORTION it.i know its harder said than done and i am definitely not at the point of accomplishing this. but i think we should all try to learn self control. and we all need to remember just because we SEE food doesnt mean we need to EAT the food!

I had a very tough time yesterday as well with my daughter's birthday party. I am back on track today and trying, like yourself, not to beat myself up. lol. Its definitely not easy... Heres what im gonna do next time: I make it known to all my family that im on a major diet so they don't try to make me eat things I shouldn't. Im gonna try to eat a small proportion and take a to go container for next day's lunch. That way I know I can still get all the yummy food. Sound silly but your family should understand. I will work on this myself..0

I have a similar situation except mine is game night at my neighbor's house every Friday night. The menu changes but it is rarely healthy. At least I have been better lately at saying no to the alcohol. All of the above suggestions are good ones. I also sometimes try to eat a healthy snack (maybe an apple) to help me feel full right before I go over. But mostly I eat a little bit of everything, enjoy being with my friends and family, and don't beat myself up because I'm not losing weight as fast as I would want to.0

Yeah your right, my family is very understanding and supportive. Maybe I can even ask them to tell me to stop eating if they see my over eating hahha
My friends on the other hand, not so much. They keep inviting me and my fiance out to restaurants and I have to keep saying no because I KNOW myself and I know if I go to a restaurant I will overeat. I want to wait a few months until I get in more control of my eating before I start eating out again, but no one seems to understand that. But oh well, for once in my life I am doing something for me, so I want to stick to itEven if I fail every now and then, I need to just learn from it and move on!!
