Hey guys! My boss' wife was just telling me about konjac glucomannan powder and was just wondering if anyone has ever tried this before. I have read a little bit about it, but was wondering if anyone has had a good experience from it. Please let me know!!!

I have some and use it as a thickener in soups. It's trickier than using flour or cornstarch - and way more powerful. 1 tsp seems to work fine in my normal 'batch' of soup (which is usually 7-8 servings at 1 1/3 c.)
When it 'fails', it's because I didn't get it properly mixed in the cold liquid before introducing it. All it does is thicken into jelly lumps that can be fished out. Nice thing is, you can fish them out and try again.
Have used it some as thickener in stir fry sauces as well.
Doesn't have a flavor, but if you use too much, it gets rather gelatinous and odd.
But for soups, I really do love it. I like my soups 'stoupy' (on the stew side) and it easily gives them that consistency without additional calories/carbs.0 -
Were you just using it as a thickener or were you also using it to try to lose weight? She told me it would me feel more full before each of my meals.0
