StrongLifts 5x5 for Women?????

Looking for a strength routine to start. Started taking a kettlebell class (which I love), and would like to start weight training (powerlifting style)....only I'm not sure about which program to tackle.

So far my two choices are New Rules...for Women, and StrongLifts 5x5.....recommendations?

I talked my wife into Starting Strength. She LOVES it and is kicking butt.

Totally depends on your personality. If I recall correctly, the 5x5 repeats the same 2 workouts for 12 weeks. That can work if you are really motivated by increasing weight/performance. I am easily bored and would be done after 5-6 weeks of doing the same moves. I am doing NROLW & I really like it. I cut the 1st stage by 2 weeks (not completely new to weightlifting) but the routine changes enough to keep me interested.

I have the Women's Health Big Book of Exercises, which details hundreds of strength training exercises, and includes quite a few actual workouts as well. Even if you don't do the workouts in the book, the pictures and descriptions for all the moves are awesome!

i'm doing NROL4W now but i'll be stopping after i complete the stage i'm on to take a break before starting strong lifts. the problem i have with new rules is that after stage 1 there's a large chunk of stages where you do movements that work more on your balance than your strength

anyway they are both good, just depends on your preferences, but there's no reason you can do 1 then go to the other
