Weight loss has slowed down how can I get it moving again ?

Hi I have been dieting for 6 nearly 7 months now and have been losing 1 kilo (sometimes more) each week.i have one cheat day a week and I eat about 3000 sometimes more calories then for the rest of the week I eat around 900 calories a day to make up for the cheat day .but lately my weight loss has slowed down 1 week iwill loose 1 kg the next week I loose nothing .does anyone have any advise to get the weight loss moving again ?

P.s I also walk/jog with my dog for 30 mins 6 days a week

  • Eat superfoods like blueberries melon strawberries,they are tasty but full of water.Your cheat day also needs to reduce to less calories have a treat a day rather than a binge day x

    Stop thinking you are fooling the body in the long run by having the cheat day, but totally underfeeding it all the other days.

    Why not just have an even deficit that matches what you are doing with your cheat day, 1200 daily?

    Oh, I know, 1200 is probably too little for you anyway. You hoped by having cheat day it would fool the metabolism from slowing down.

    As you've proven, it doesn't with that big of a gap.

    Plus, you do realize that any of those excess calories that are not needed right then on that day, are stored as fat. 1500 calories of carbs can probably be stored to top off what your diet has depleted through the week, but everything extra is stored as fat.

    You in this to keep it off? Or are you enjoying it so much you want to keep yo-yo dieting years down the road?

    Instead of having a cheat day, why not just choose one cheat meal that you really want?

    Also, if you want to jump start, maybe up your exercise to include weights as well?

    I followe the Dukan diet and I do a protein day every week where I eat nothing but lean meat / fish / chicken for the whole day.

    Your body needs more calories on a daily basis. 900 calories is not enough, even with your cheat day. Did you know that 1200 calories is the bare minimum any woman should eat, regardless of her weight? Anything below 800 calories a day is considered anorexic.
    I don't know how much you weigh, but I would bet that your BMR is closer to 1500 calories a day. Like the poster above mentioned, check out the thread they included in their post and also the group "Eat More to Weigh Less" here on MFP.
    You are starving yourself and your weight loss is going to be stalled unless you eat more calories. Your body doesn't have enough fuel to sustain your daily activities. How do you plan on maintaining your weight? Are you going to live on 900 calories a day for the rest of your life? Because that is what you set yourself up for when you try to lose weight too fast. Slow and steady wins the race. It also teaches you long term healthy eating habits that you can maintain so you can also maintain your goal weight.

    Find your true BMR and up your calories. Your metabolism is like a wood burning stove. You need to feed it in order for it to burn at optimal levels. If you don't give it enough fuel, it slows down. You need to feed your body the same way. Feed it the fuel it needs at regular intervals and it will keep your metabolism up. Exercise also increases your metabolism. But you need food to fuel your workouts or your body is going to slow down, too. Good luck!

    It has been shown to work for many that start a diet with it, with a metabolism already running full steam.
    But their daily deficit is not so extreme, and the cheat day makes up for the extreme undercut rest of the week.

    But if you have dieted a lot, your body's metabolism may be more than ready to move slower to perceived lack of food. It just took longer with the cheat day.

    Why not just eat normal and planned each day. You can still have cheat meals by backing off some cal's day before and day after say Sat night special, and/or extra workout, but too extreme isn't good for far too many.

    You've shown great self-control so far, this should be easy for ya.
