Hi Everyone!

I'm Shellie - age 37 from the UK and started using MFP just yesterday!

I piled on a lot of weight during my first pregnancy which was now nearly 8 years ago (he was one big baby!) and I'm still stuck, struggling to get the weight off. I had another baby nearly 5 years ago and that pregnancy weight came straight off - just left with the old stuff from 8 years ago!

It doesn't seem to matter if I diet or not .... weight generally stays the same! I've always followed Weight Watchers, however, have never counted calories before so thought I'd give this a try!

I quit smoking in January after 21 years and found it pretty easy going, it's now that I just constantly feel hungry! Any tips or recommendations gratefully received. I've got a family holiday in October and would really like to gain some confidence and start feeling OK about myself again!

xx

Hello and welcome! I also have 'tried' WW and though I did lose a little weight, it just wasnt' a good fit for me - I find MFP easier to use than calculating points, not to mention the bonus that it doesn't cost me a cent! My baby weight has been tagging along nearly 6 years now - I finally said enough is enough so here I am! Glad you came to join us!

I quit smoking in January also! It had been controlling me for 12 years. I feel much better now, I also started focusing on diet and exercise when I quit so I don't have the side effect of feeling hungry so much because I'm already in the mentality of only being able to consume so many calories per day. A million congratulations to you, and best of luck!!
  • Hi everyone, I am super excited about this. Even though I have lost 29 pounds since january I wanted to try this new tool along with my healthy eating. I am having a problem though with trying to track my fat, carbs and protein. Not sure if I can manually put in my foods that I eat. Can someone give me a hand please?
