You may not be eating enough, yeah I know weird huh? I plateaued for like 3 months and then increased my calorie intake from 1100 to 13-1600 on top of exercising and it worked.0

You still need more than 1200 calories. Stay positive and keep tracking, but please please PLEASE increase your calories.0

Make sure you see a registered dietician as well.0

Eating a sensible amount of calories will help I am on 1500 and I am losing about 2lb a month with about 70lbs to lose now. You will work out what is best for you but 1000 is not enough. Being hungry will also make you down emotionally and there is no need for it. Eat a good diet with plenty of fresh fruit & veggies. That is good for the whole family so make that a golden rule for everyone to eat fresh. Take a little exercise. If you are very big it is hard but walking to the store or to the park with your son or school will help boost your metabolism & make you feel better with those endorphins. Make sure you have some big friends on here & also some that have come some way on their journey. It is going to take some time but it is the only way........one day at a time. You can do it girl!
Please feel free to add me as a friend.0 -
Hey hun!
Just thought I'd add a tid bit from weight of the nation (new hbo documentary). I thought it was interesting that once we are obese as adults, our brains fight losing weight due to a drop in the hormone leptin. SO just remember it is a fight the whole way, and sometimes your emotions are a bit out of your control. Also...what everyone else said: 1200-1300 calories and cut down the sodium. If I eat a lot of sodium...I retain water for about a week.0 -
What does MFP say your calorie intake should be? For someone your size, I would think it would be a lot higher then 1200. I weigh 133 and i'm at 1200 calories per day and I do eat back my workout calories. Please be careful, like everyone said, you def are not eating enough.
Good luck!

I don't think 1200 cals will do it either. You can try it, but just keep in mind that I am guessing you should be eating around 1800 just as a total guess. This is a situation where less is not better.
Everyone is telling you to eat more, but they are not telling you why. The reason is that you are starving your body, and therefore it is holding on to everything you put into it in a survival mode. The more you feed it, up to a point, the more willing it will be to let go and allow itself to get out of survival mode and release the fat.
If you go here www.fitnessfrog.com and calculate your TDEE, and then subtract about 15 to 20% of that, that is how much you should eat daily to lose a lb per week. You might have to make small adjustments, but it should be pretty right on. Give it about a month or so. And, you can increase your intake slowly. Like 100 cals per week until you get up to where you should be. You might gain weight at first, but it's just water don't worry.
Good luck.0 -
I haven't read the whole thread but wanted to give you (((((hugs))))). Hang in there, I know it sucks when we are doing everything we think we should and we still aren't seeing results. Listen to the people here, they have a lot of great suggestions/ideas. And remember, you are worth it and you can do this. Everyone's journey is different but the result is worth the ups and downs of the journey.0

Thank you ALL for the advice. I really do appreciate it and it helps to know that so many people actually care enough to stop and respond. I know that this will be a long journey, but i'm willing to do what it takes. I will be upping my calorie intake and am going to start monitoring my sodium intake...that was a great suggestion. I'm not giving up this time. It's so hard to eat when i'm just not hungry. Im sure increasing (or starting...) an exercise routine would help with that. You are all great and i'm happy to know that there are others out there on the same trying journey as I am.0

How many calories does MyFitnessPal say you should consume per day? You should reach that count every day and not all at once. If you eat 400-500 calories @ breakfast, lunch & dinner & two 100 calorie snacks in between that is 1400-1700 calories per day right there! MFP has me on 1540 per day & I started @ 197! I just got back on my weight loss journey after my doctor gave me some not so great news so, I am not weighing myself until I go back to see her in June! You can do it, we all have faith in u!0
