Trying to buy an HRM! ... help?

Hey! I was wondering if anyone had a favorite brand of HRM.
I was googling some different, but wasn't quite sure where to start - and they all seem pretty costly, so I don't want to pick the wrong one!
I didn't want to buy one until I got committed to running/jogging - and now that I am, I want to know how many calories I'm actually burning! Haha (:
Thanks for your time, everyone.
xo
p.s. if you'd like, add me! (:

It just depends on how much you want to spend. I went for the cheaper one only bc I can't afford the expensive ones and I thought I wasnt going to get what I wanted out of it but I am so happy with mine. I have the Polar FT4 and even though the FT7 is a little better, for me it really wasnt that big of a difference for the money. Def go Polar0

If you're into your running, check out the Garmin Forerunner range. The ones with heartrate monitoring. Not cheap but I lurrrrrve my 410 :-)0

Polar FT7 or Jawbone UP.0

Is a heart rate monitor better or something like the FitBit?0

I have a Polar FT4. It's a great starter HRM (my first), it tracks calories burned and if you're in your target heart rate zone, and it's really easy to use. Regardless of what kind you get, get one that includes a strap that goes around your chest - I've been told these are more reliable than ones that are just around your wrist.0

I have a Polar FT60 and I love it!!0

Well definitely go with POLAR! I have a polar FT4 because it was more affordable and had all the features I was interested in. I love it! I got mine for $63 with shipping too from bodytronics online, which was the best price I could find.0

Yup. For outdoors pursuits (walking, running, biking, hiking, mountains) I can't see past my Garmin Forerunner 405cx. Only had it a couple of weeks, but wouldn't be without it now
But for pure calorie tracking, I've preferred my Kelly Holmes watch out of all I've had0 -
I love my polar F6. It's been holding up wonderfully through all my exercises and constant use for months at a time every summer- even swimming! Has a chest strap too.0
