Are any of you obsessed with your scale? How often do you weigh yourself? I'm not talking about how often you weigh in on mfp but how often you actually step on the scale. I'm terrible about it...it's almost like I can't see it without getting on it. Sometimes I find a larger number to be a motivator even though I know that weight really does fluctuate a lot, and I get pretty happy when I see a lower number. I've toyed with the idea of hiding the thing for a month but I feel like that would be weird for me (and I'd probably just weigh at the gym anyway). Do any of you have scale issues?

Yes, I weigh myself every morning and sometimes at night to see if there will be a loss in the morning.

I'm going on a week long vacation in July and will miss my scale.

Me too! It used to work for me, but I am so used to my scale being there, I don't think the # registers like it used to. I

I used to weigh everyday, then I stopped 'dieting' and was afraid too. Thankfully its only been a 5 lb fluctuation, but now that I started again I like to record my weight everyday -- I like to see the changes!! :)

OMG.......I have been cursing my scale all morning , I just started my weight loss journey three weeks ago and on Saturday I was at 10.2 pounds lost and then this morning it was down to only 8........my food and exercise have not changed so where did the 2.2 pounds come from .....ughhhhhhhh

Yeah, a bit. My thing is that the scale, for the most part, is like a scoreboard for me. I mean, I can look at all the other indicators, and I know in my mind that weight does not "change" all that rapidly, but I like to know where I stand and how far I have to go. Some people hate the scale, but it seems that they are blaming their weight loss or gain on the scale, not on the underlying habits. And then some people also get horribly depressed about the scale and they give up because it doesn't say what they want it to. I think this, like everything else, is a matter of perspective.

I weigh once a week. The rest of the time the scale is between the door and a wall, so I can't see it.

I use the scale and my fiance's house so I can't weigh myself everyday but I do find I weigh myself whenever I'm there. I actually did decide that I will not be stepping on the scale until after Fathers day. Hopefully I'll see a smaller number. I wanna focus on working out and getting fit less on those numbers this month.

Mornings before I workout, then after my workout, then after my protein shake, then sometime before dinner...i mainly do this to see how my weight fluctuates during the day. Its hard to combat the judgments of the scale, never feel bad when the number is above what it was earlier...one time i weighed 5 lbs more in the afternoon than I did in the morning...it went back down the next morning...

I don't really think about the scale too much. I weigh in on mfp once a week, and I used to sometimes step on it once or twice throughout the week to see the way sodium affects me the next day. That's mostly curiosity though. I try to feel success through measurements and by the way my clothes fit. Fitness goals are also a huge motivator for me.

I'm beyond scale obsessed. I thought my scale was not reading correctly and so I went out and bought a second one. Now I have 2 scales side by side in my bathroom. The old one told me I had gained 3lbs and since I knew it couldnt possibly be right I got a taylor which should I was the regular weight before the old scale told me I gained 3lbs.

Problem is now I weigh myself on both each day. On my depressed days I probably step on the thing 10 times in the morning alone. Ugh I have issues.
