Lowering carb count?

I've heard from various people that as long as you stay in a reasonable calorie range and just reduce carbs and increase protein and fat that you will lose weight...is this true for everyone or at all?

I have done that because I'm doing p90x and Tony recommends more protein tans fewer carbs to help repair muscles. He also recommend that for my size and BMI, that I take in 1500 calories per day but I'm still on 1200 and eat back some of my burned calories. It just depends on what you are trying to do I think. I have lost weight this way and toned dramatically.0

I'm not really sure what to do. I've lowered my carbs from grains and I notice that I keep craving sugar,...maybe I'm not eating enough proteins and fats.0

I have dropped the great majority of grains from my diet. (occasional intake, but I do really want to just get rid of them 100%.) I also have lowered my carbs in general and try to stick to around 100g a day. The sugars I get are from natural sources only. For me, it has had a great effect on how I feel. I have no problems w/ cravings though, as my diet is pro-bacon and other yummy foods. I'd rather eat those over sweet garbage any day. I am eating 40-50% fat intake, 35% protein, and whatever is left over is carbs. Really just have to find what works best for you. The main reason dropping your carb intake works is because it limits you eating out and intaking what are considerably a massively poor carb source in a pretty horrible manner.0

Yes, I can say I do feel so much better...less bloated definitely, and the grains always seem to give me digestive issues a little bit. I'm pretty sure I just need to up my fat intake a little bit. I'm a fat free junkie so I think I'd be better off having low fat/full fat for certain things like yogurt etc.0 -
I think that is true.
I lowered my carbs to under 100g a day ( net) for 8 weeks some years ago. I lost 20 pounds in that time, then lost another 5 after I went back to eating "normal". I had to abandon the lower carb diet when I found out that I was pregnant with my youngest ( now 6).
Over the years, I have gained back 50 pounds...so 3 weeks ago I decided to go back low carb. The first week I dropped 5 pounds. The second week kinda sucked, but I think I wasn't eating enough and that stalled me. Hoping to get back on track this week!0
