Seriously lacking...follow through

So I pour over weight-loss books, plan meals, and I even bought a FitBit. I plan and plan....and then plan some more. Then I just ignore my planning and eat junk. What is wrong with me?!? I have steadily gained and gained over the last year. Even seeing the scale creep up, I just can't help it! I feel like I have some kind of compulsive eating thing, but it's too embarrassing to talk to anyone about it. I guess I'm just bummed out and looking for some encouragement.

I can totally sympathize. I plan and plan, too... and then don't follow through hardly at all. But getting on here is a good start to changing old habits, right? Filling out your food/exercise (honestly) on here really helps make it a reality, too. When you see in big red numbers that you've gone over 450 calories for the day, it makes you want to change that! My best advise is to just not have the junk in the house, and make sure there are healthier replacements around. And if making a sudden change just isn't happening, focus on doing teeny tiny things. Are you craving brownies? Well... eat an apple, and then eat one brownie - instead of just eating two brownies. Little steps will help get you through the beginning... I'm not exactly an expert here lol, but I am in the same boat as you and that is part of what is helping me.

There isn't anything wrong with you. You might be overthinking this whole thing and subconsciously psyching yourself out. You might not be ready yet and that's ok too.

I have tried Weight Watchers and restricting calories over the years and nothing really worked. Then I finally decided that I have had enough. There was no planning nor hesitation this time around, I just started.

If you've really had enough, it is time to simply begin. We all like to say "Tomorrow is another day" when we don't do so well or things didn't work out right. It isn't just a cliche consolation phrase. It's also to remind us to focus on today and what we are doing right now, the choices we make right this minute.

    Stop overthinking and just start.
