Hey girl, I had the same problem. I'd go in like Rocky, ready to beat the hell out of weight loss, ready to take some punches and a week later, it would all be derailed. I'd get discouraged and demotivated by the boyfriend, exhausted by the job and had no one around me for support and encouragement when I really needed it.
Now that I have found MFP, it has made a BIG difference! Everyone here wants the same thing I do - to be healthy, happy and have a rockin' hot body! we're all here for the same reasons, we can all relate in one way or another! Add me! I'm great for a pep talk when you feel like you're out of fuel! Something that helps me too... I subscribe to Oxygen Magazine and Muscle Mag International. Sometimes also American Curves. They are all by Robert Kennedy Publishing and they are AWESOME magazines for getting in shape. They have recipes, research, nuritrional info, everything! Gives me something to strive for.
You can do it!! Don't give up and don't be discouraged!! Do what YOU want to do and be healthy!! Get yourself the body you deserve!!! I believe in you!!!!0 -

You just sound like me it is so getting me down. For your energy thou i have a tip i got this morning from a work mate .Its wheatgrass you can get it in big tubs and you take a spoon of it in liquid in the morning . She has told me she got it from a friend and it has turned her whole life around just with the amount of energy and good bubble form she is in and it has had the same affect with her friend even there husbands have taken it and said really has made a big difference. So i will be trying it ...
I thing it will help with motivation for me anyway.
Good Luck0 -
Do you think you may be depressed? It's hard to tackle much when you are low. You sound like you might be. I would encourage you to find somewhere where you can find or make friends who you can relate to. If it's really bad and/or been going on for awhile, you may want to see your doctor. Make sure nothing physical is amiss.
Hope you feel brighter & more motivated soon, take care!0 -
Perhaps setting SMALLER goals?
Example: Let's say you have 50 pounds to lose and you want to lose it in a year. Breaking it up into 3 month sections means 12 pounds every 3 months. At the end of 3 months you see that you DID lose 12 pounds! You're excited and happy, and know that you CAN do it - and keep going. Next thing you know at the end of a year you've lost the 50 pounds, and you have other benefits...stronger heart, leaner body, more energy...
Just an idea.
To combat my feelings of frustration with "dieting" I do not deny myself the things I really want, but I do think really hard about them! If I know I'm going to be teaching a Zumba class later in the day and I REALLY want that cookie...I'll go ahead and eat it and enjoy the heck out of it! If it's on a Monday and I know I have no workout later...I'll really have to think about whether or not I want to do that. Can it wait until Tuesday when I'm teaching again? Do I have time to fit in a workout today? Those kinds of things.
YOU CAN DO IT!!! It's not easy...but you're tough!0 -
Someone else suggested setting smaller goals and they have a great idea. I felt that my original 50 lb goal was never going to happen. So I set my goal to 30 lbs, almost like a mini-goal. I have reached that goal and feel so accomplished for it and now I"m onto the next 20 lbs and fit and tone.
Don't let others discourage you (another great piece of advice from a previous poster) you're not a lone even though it feels that way sometimes. It's hard when you're the only one near by with your goal, try reaching out and seeing if there's any kind of exercise/support group.
It's hard and sometimes you're going to feel like giving up, don't know that you are better then that and will move on!0 -

That's the starting point: you have things to be happy about! You "feel" like you have an island, this doesn't mean you do!
Everyone has their ups and downs. To boost your energy, find some exercise routine that fits your schedule and stick with it!Get a friend to join you - maybe even your hubby. Does he like to jog, for instance?
When you're low, try to team up with people here - some (most, I would say) are very supportive. Or find a good book to read, something that inspires you and gives you a target.
These lows of energy and confidence come and go, be sure about that. Think well of yourself and take little steps towards your goal - one day at a time. Whenever you felt you overate, instead of crashing into a chair feeling pity for yourself or being angry with yourself, get some action! Aerobic, a dance, a jog. That kills the calories, lifts up the spirits and teaches you the lesson for the next time.
Heads up! You can do it and things will get better!!!0
