A pound or two a week is great
Don't get discouraged this is a marathon, not a sprint. A few treats in moderation will help you to not give in the large cravings! Be honest with yourself, treat yourself once in awhile and don't give up0 -
a pound or two a week is healthy loss. If you lose more than that in the beginning its water weight. i'd say stick with it a little longer. eat more veggies so you can "eat more" but not fill up on empty calories0

Hi Marsha,
Congratulations for making the effort! You are on the right track. I take it one day at a time, sometimes it has to be one meal at a time, sometimes it has to be one hour at a time. Drink lots and lots of water, you'll be less hungry and tempted to succumb to cravings if you are not thirsty. Results will come, that's what I keep telling myself. Be patient with yourself and pat yourself on your back for caring for yourself. One or two pounds a week is really good! There are 52 weeks in a year! One or two pounds per week is 52-104lbs in a year! That's amazing! Keep it up!0 -
Make the best (read that as "healthiest") choices at each meal ....... try ditching sugar & junk food to help get rid of cravings ..... best of luck !0

1 or 2 pounds a week is the way to lose weight. You are doing great. As was said, this is a marathon for life, not a sprint. Find some healthy snacks to fill the cravings. I love almonds and get the unsalted ones, measure out 1 oz which is only 160 calories. Those with a lot of water help me feel fuller when the cravings hit.
I also think the friends you can get on here help greatly in supporting each other. I know I'm happy with how things are going for me overall. Best of luck Marsha.0 -
Usually when I am craving something Its usually at ngith time at the end of the day after I had eaten my 1200cals. I try to drink 1-3 glasses of water after eating dinner that was My stomach is full and i wont feel like putting anything else in my mouth another thing is i drink some herbal tea with some honey or warm water lemon and honey before bed it seems to help my cravings. Its hard i have a really tough time with it I love food and I love to eat its just trying to find what works for you! Good luck and hopefully you get on track even thou it seems liek you are if yoru losing 1 to 2 lbs a week0

Now that summer is here I do drink more water but I do not really get thirsty. I will have a glass of juice at breakfast and then a diet soda with lunch and not drink again until drinner and that is either water or a diet soda and I don't drink rest of the night I just don't get thirsty. Like I said I do drink more in the summer with the heat because it is warmmer outside in the winter I don't get thirsty.
I also forgot to mention when I lose those 1 or 2 pounds the next week I will gain back a little then the next I might lose a little bit it is a roller coster ride in the weight department.
I am hoping to be healthy since health issues are big in my family. I had two brother's that had diabeties and they both just passed away with this diease along with one brother with kidney problems and both were very over weight. My sister is also heavy and she has diabeties and I want to avoid all of this and be around to watch the grandkids grow up.0 -

Umm... I would kill to lose a pound or two a week. That's perfect!! I have been stalled in my weight loss and finally this week the scale moved, instead of going up and down the same two pounds. You are doing this the healthy way. If you drop weight too quickly, it will only come back on.0 -
1 to 2 lbs a week is great. You want to lose it slowly. "The race is not given to swift or the strong but to he that endures to the end." You can do it just take your time.0

Don't be discouraged! 1-2lbs are a very healthy loss per week. Remember, the pounds didn't creep up over night and they will take lots more to go away! Good luck and feel free to add me....we can do this!0

Like everyone says, 1-2lb per week is absolutely perfect - that is the exact rate you should be losing weight.
You should chage your menu on a regular basis to keep things going.
Do try to drink more water.
I'd cut out the juice and the diet drinks - they do you no good at all!!!! I'm sure you already know but just look up 'aspartame' on google!
This is a marathon not a sprint. It takes time to gain weight as it does to lose weight.
I would also say, plan for treats if you are craving things. Do not deprive yourself of things that your body wants. Just plan the calories.
Keep it going you're going great.
