:explode: Its me again. If you've followed my posts in the past, I always commit and then fail. I don't understand why. But here is my story for those who don't know...
Let's go back to middle school/ high school. I was always a bigger girl, always always had low self esteem and always hated myself. In college I became anorexic with bulimic tendencies. I barely ate anything, but would make myself vomit all the time, even if I hadn't eaten. I was SOOO afraid of gaining and wanted to lose so bad. I finally became skinny, and after I became sick, I finally told my mom and got help. Two weeks after I told my Mom I met a guy and got pregnant. I married him, and had my son who is the best thing to ever happen to me. Becoming a mother made me realize what life was all about and I never had "eating disorder" again. That was almost 3 years ago..
I am now 22 years old and going through a divorce. I was 30 lbs over weight for the past 2 years after having my son. Since seperating from my abusive husband 3 months ago, I have gained an additional 15 pounds.
I am at a loss. I don't know what to do. I wake up every morning and say I want to be healthy today and eat healthy, but with a full time job, full time college, and raising a son, I get to breakfast and all ready fail. I am getting so fat, and I feel like I cannot control myself when I eat. Almost like I am the opposite of anorexic, so I guess and overeater? This is a never ending cycle with me. I need help.

I hope you do get help! Try to make it easy for yourself by preparing. Keep the bad stuff out of the house, and have cut vegetables nearby. Pack lunches for the whole week on the weekend. Always have the same thing for breakfast so it's a no brainer.
I also overeat sometimes when stressed. I make sure I over eat low calorie food so I can have as much as I like. I keep my airpop popcorn maker on the counter, I always have celery in the cabinet, and I chew a lot of ice.
Best of luck!0 -
Yes it sounds like you may need some extra help, have you contacted your doctor? I dunno... if you need anything I'm here! I could not even imagine going through what you just explained.0

No matter what please do not go back to your old habits of not eating, look at your pictures, you dont look happy at all in your thinner picture but the proud loving smile of you holding your son says it all. I really dont see where you are over weight but if you feel you need to lose weight then please do it the healthy way. Take time read the post, read the recipes, everyone here is friendly and will gladly help you. Good luck to you and if you need anything just write. :flowerforyou:0

Can you get a friend to help you prepare food in advance over the weekend so the stress of that is less? I guess squeeze exercise into daily activity, you sound insanely busy.
If you can't lose weight, maintain it. Just focus on maintaining, and just slowly slide into a rhythm where you aren't gaining, maybe even losing, that you're happy with.0 -
Thanks you guys. Yeah I think I might need extra help. I need to lose 30 pounds to have a healthy BMI but I want to lose 45 so that I am in the middle of the healthy BMI and not the top. How do you guys go about losing?0

Hi! you have been though a lot and you are still so young! Have you thought about getting some counseling for the things you have gone through? A lot of times, our eating is all out of whack because of all the emotional stuff we go through. Sometimes getting counseling helps you stay focus on the positive things in your life and give you some tips on how to get out of the negative thinking that can really mess up your desire to eat healthy. I'm a firm believer that where the mind is, the body will follow!
I hope you get the help you so deserve! Your story can be an inspiration for other girls who are going through the same thing and have no one to turn to! Good luck to you! God Bless you!0 -
You may want to go see your physician to make sure yu don't have a metabolic disorder because of the anorexia.
My story is similar in that I was a gymnast, so in fantastic shape, but couldn't afford to gain an ounce. So ex-lax and starvation was a regular thing for me (1/2 an apple and 6 ex-lax.. followed by wake-up's to make it through the 3 hours of training/night)
Today, I struggle to lose any weight at all because my metabolism is totally whacked out.
Everyone has given you some great advise here. I'm going to add my 2 cents. Take a B-complex vitamin to help with metabolizing proteins, but also to help with your stress levels. I'm taking Jamieson's Stress-Plex and finding it really good at managing my ups & downs, which trigger me to start emotional eating.0 -
