Intermittent Fasting (aka nighttime fasting)

Is anyone trying the nighttime fasting that's been in the news lately? Any luck? If so what kind of hours are you eating/fasting and how long have you been doing it?

I'm going to try it, but I was thinking reasonable hours like don't eat after 7pm or before 9am. What are people's thoughts on this?

Thats actually where the term "breakfast" comes from because people would "break their nightly fast"

If you don't eat every 125 min and 32 sec, your body goes into starvation mode. So I'd be wary of such an eating plan

Haha, does that mean people should wake up every 2 hours to eat some food?
Just the thought of that makes me feel sick.

But I like your precision ;) milliseconds?

I am not sure if I understand the term, but some of people I know appear to have lost significant amount of weight by skipping dinner. Some went to extrem by not eating anything beyond noon time. I can't do this nor would think of doing it. I was just telling you what I have seen in these people. I keep wondering how they did it...though.

I just started Monday. I've been fasting from 9pm thru 1pm the next day. 16 hour fast with a 8 hour eating window.

This is true. I discovered another secret though... if you stop eating 5000 calories of McDonald's every day, then starvation mode actually causes your body to burn fat! I am currently writing a book and starting a fitness cult.

Edit: Figured I'd add something productive. I fast at least 16 hours a day (if I am only eating 1400-1600 calories on a cut or w/e I'll typically do more like 22 and just eat one huge meal). Have been doing it since January, and lost ~10 pounds (>6% body fat) while maintaining my lifts. Also following LeanGains protocol. Have gotten several friends/family who were trying to get in shape on similar programs, and all have seen great results.

Normal eating window is 2-3pm to 10-11pm (I work 10a-7p, otherwise would probably do 2 hours earlier)
