Night shifters...help

Nightshifters, how do you keep from going over your calories? For example, I'm up all day today, then I work until 7am, nap, back at it 7p-7a. Days 2 and 3 aren't hard because I'm sleeping like a normal person but the first day I'm up close to 24 hrs! How do you do it?
Also, if you work overnights like i do, when do you cut off calories for one day and go to the next? Just wondering as I'm a permanent night shift girl (by choice) so I'm going to have to figure it out sooner or later!

If you are staying up more than the usual time, say 20 hours instead of 16, you are burning more calories than if you are sleeping, So when i change over to the night shift, I allow myself a few more calories on that day. So I would not worry about going over calories a little on that day. How much you would go over is up to you, I don't know if there is any formula that would help in this situation, but I would say 10 to 15 % over would not be unreasonable. That would be my SWAG (scientific wild A## Guess.

I argee. When I work nights I am awake almost 24 hours sometimes and I find myself starving on 1200 cals. I just allow myself a little extra so I don't totally binge. I track my calories from midnight to midnight..just easier that way.0
