I log in my strength training as cardio.

MFP says I burn 140 calories if I strength train for 45 minutes. I believe this topic is addressed on a FAQ board. If I remember right, MFP says it is just an estimate, and without a monitor there's no way to really know how many calories an individual burns while strength training. So, even though MFP says I burn 140 calories doing it, I keep in mind that it is just an estimate. Hope that helps!

You have to add that in under cardiovascular exercise. The strength training portion is just to add your sets and reps. It does indeed burn calories, in an intense session I can burn as many calories as I would doing cardio.
