When do calories "reset"?

When do calories restart? What if I eat at 12:30, or 1am, or 2am? Do the calories get added to the day before, or the current 24 hour cycle? This question has stumped me for quite some time now.

they restart after you go to sleep for the night and wake up in the morning
So if your awake and eating at 2am it still counts for that night

    That's what I would say!
    but I don't eat after 7-8pm
    so idk!

At midnight. Even if I were to eat at 1 am, I count it for the day of.

If you are logging here it's midnight to midnight, although you could decide to put your post midnight food on to the day already ended. It really doesn't matter as long as all evens out across the week.

Same here, work 4 nights, then have 4 nights off so I revert to a normal schedule. It's easier for me to be consistent using midnight to midnight for my diary

I go by when I sleep. So, for example, I had some chicken for dinner at midnight last night, but because it was dinner, I logged it as dinner for yesterday, not breakfast for today.

One of the drawbacks of the website is that, if you're not getting the same amount of exercise every day (for example, my exercise is martial arts twice a week, and not really working out other than that), the site still assumes you will eat all your extra calories on the same day, even if you are better off using them over two or three days. So I sort of keep track of that myself, and try not to let the glaring red numbers the second day bother me. :)
