Yes! I was going to start May 30th, but I can wait a week. Unless you want to go a week early. Do you have all the materials yet?0

Looks like a nutritional supplement along with a predefined meal plan and some probiotics and something called "prebiotics" that I've never heard of personally (but if you don't invent at least one new term, you can't have "science" on your diet.
As long as the meals are balanced and nutritious, sounds like just an expensive way to eat healthy. But it doesn't look like a "cumquat and acacia berry" cleanse at least, so it's probably pretty harmless other than the cost.0 -
oh, no sorry not big on "detox/cleanse" , I thought it was a workout series0

I've seen a ton of great results posted by friends who are BB coaches...like 15-20lbs. What I am interested in is 1 month later if those big losses stay gone. I believe in BB and have been drinking Shakeology for 1 1/2 years and LOVE it. But as an example, I might lose 7lbs when I do a 3 day cleanse but then it seems like all but a couple of those pounds come back on. Guess I need to do some more research before I commit.
It will also be hard for me to follow the NO heavy workouts for 3 weeks because I teach Zumba 2 days a week. Would love any insight anyone has on that aspect.0 -

There's a very good reason for this. Basically, most cleanses or fast diets are an extreme low calorie diet. You'll ALWAYS lose weight in the short term (say up to 10 pounds) by eating a lot fewer calories.
The trouble is, those diets usually last just long enough to have you lose 10-20 pounds or so, then the purveyors of the diet know the damage you are doing to your metabolism (even on the stimulants they usually have you taking) starts to show. So your "diet" ends and you go back to normal eating habits with a low metabolism, so you put the pounds right back on.
Avoiding the heavy workouts is a good idea if you're going to go on a near-starvation diet because your body will start burning fat and if you aren't giving it any protein it'll start using protein from your muscles. Working out heavily will accelerate that process.
Run a reasonable deficit, feed your body properly, get lots of exercise for your health. Better for you and cheaper.0 -
Hey there....
The Reset isn't really a "cleanse"...... it's an overall detox of your body that slowly takes place over time. You don't eat super low calories, or take "stimulants". This is not considered a weight loss system, although many do lose weight. You basically eat vegan. I can give anyone that is interested details if you send me a private message. (I don't want MFP to think I am trying to sell anyone anything, or I would post more here. )0 -

You have to keep in mind that it's a weight loss program, although many people (almost all!) *do* lose weight. It's a detox where weight loss is a bonus. I am more interested in the other perks it provides.....the lower cholesterol, better sleep, more energy, etc. I've spoken with many people that are doing it that teach classes (as I do myself) most say that the are just telling their classes what they are doing and doing low impact. That's what I plan to do.0
