Not sure if this is the best forum for this...

So I was watching part 1 of the HBO series, The Weight if the Nation (really good so far) and was shocked by this:

There are 7 factors to Cardiovascular Health
1. Non Smoker
2. Maintaining a lean body mass
3. Regular physical activity (150 min/week moderate or 75 min/week intense)
4. Healthy diet
5. Low blood pressure (less than 120/80)
6. Total cholesterol less than 200
7. No diabetes (Fasting glucose <100)

Only 1% of the population fits all 7 criteria!!!!

How do you fare?

5/7, but I don't know my cholesterol levels...so possibly 6/7. Still attempting to quit smoking. I'll keep trying until it sticks. :embarassed:

6 out of 7 because my total cholesterol is above 300mg/dL, but that doesn't matter since my HDL>100mg/dL
(I had my cholesterol taken last after experimenting with a high fat (150-200g/day?) diet full of MUFAs and Saturated fat, but I am sure I am in a normal range now)
    I'll go with 6.5 out of 7

4/7 that I actually know about. Don't know my blood pressure or cholesterol, and I don't have lean body mass.

failing at #2, but for a year or so i was also failing at the blood pressure.

and yes i'm loving that series also. i think the moral of the story is if we want any changes to happen in food industries we the people are going to have to pressure them to do it since there are too many factors involved with government legislation

    5 1/2 out of 7.

I'm overweight, and in Feb. 2012, my cholesterol was 202. I switched from butter to olive oil for cooking though & started exercising daily in Mar. 2012, so I'm hopeful that after 2 months, my cholesterol might have dropped 3 measly points.
